I always thought of an alternate reality where KI waited a few years to build SOB as an Intamin a la El Toro, but from what I've heard about El Toro aging (plus my own experience riding it), I'm not so sure that would have gone well either (would have at least been a better ride and lasted longer).

Such a boring layout, and a 200 ft wooden coaster with no airtime wasn't a good thing either.

El Toro isn't that rough IMHO. Did you ride it before or after the structure repair???

  2. I heard this mentioned on another thread that said it was used in TV ads and in the station. They linked to a Sean Flaherty video, but it's down, so I had to look up the TV ad. There's two: a female voice and a male voice that sounds like the one at the beginning of the Indian Thriller (IYKYK.) Which one was used in the station?

Bristle Hound and Lambsy were prominently mentioned in the Enchanted Voyage theme song (I did know that one).

That song certainly shows its age, because how many kids today know who they are??? This is probably the reason they removed it in 1984... :(

Nowadays, it'd go "Fred Flintstone, he's the Grand Dad; Scooby Doo and Super Shag; Space Ghost, Zorak, Moltar, and Brak, live in my TV!" :P

You know that spitting on someone is battery if they press charges, right?  I hope you have decided not to do this as you have matured.

I didn't spit DIRECTLY on her, but in her direction. And I was 8.

  5. Am I the only person who LIKES the DC themes Six Flags uses? I loved DC and Looney Tunes as a kid to the point where I read the comics, and I still do today. I'm the only one who cares about riding a coaster because of its superhero name, at least for enthusiasts. And I'm glad.

There was the Batman villain, Count Vertigo, who would disorient his opponents, although he's not widely known. Just thinking out loud as a possible re-theme for Invertigo.

He was voiced by Steven Blum in Young Justice!

  6. I remember everyone screaming when the lights went out in the FoF preshow, and some guy saying "SISSIES!!!"

Also, some mom who CLEARLY didn't like SpongeBob telling him "You're what's wrong with television nowadays!" She went on to mention the "adult humour" in the show, like how there's a character named "Sandy Cheeks" (which in reality, was named because she's a squirrel) and how they live in a town called Bikini Bottom (again, was meant to be a reference to Bikini Atoll.) I didn't like that mom one bit and SPAT IN HER FACE as she left. Thankfully, she didn't see me. Then again, my parents and I were the same way with Dora (though that's because of her incessant screaming and the creepy art style.)

  7. Meeting SpongeBob and Scooby Doo when I went in August 2004. I also remember my mom REFUSING to go on the Wild Thornberrys ride (I didn't think much of why until she rode Ozarka Splash at Six Flags New Orleans a year later), Tomb Raider (I'd played the games and seen the movie, so it was RIGHT up my alley), Scooby's Ghoster Coaster, Rugrats Runaway Reptar, and having a crush on the alien leader in Flight of Fear. Also a funny memory: My parents and I were walking in one direction in the Nickelodeon area, then all of a sudden we see Dora, and we WALKED THE OTHER WAY. (Dora was not allowed in this house. Even as a kid I found her stupid.)
