  1. Agreed, footing depth has more to do with soil type and quality in the geotech report. If you built a small kiddie coaster in a swamp vs a tall ride on bedrock, the kiddie coaster would probably have larger footings due to the soil conditions.
  2. At the very least the plans for the station, queue, maintenance building etc would need to be submitted for a building permit. Ensuring these adhere to building codes, accessibility codes etc would all be required. Also I'm not sure about the ride itself, but being wood makes it more flammable and therefore might require more stringent codes.
  3. Thanks for posting that Oldschool75. How do you think that is going to interact with the WWC loading platform, pedestrian bridge with the steps and the operation tower that looks over it all? Your layout looks like it crosses right over that area, and I'm having a hard time picturing how it would all work together.
  4. So not to interrupt the rousing discussion of Cedar Point and its coasters vs others but how about those permits? We have people who drive out to Batavia to take pictures of track that may or may not be ours, but we can't get one person near Mason to swing by the building department and see what they can find? Everything from site work to the new pumps at WWC to a potential 2017 ride would require public permits. An out of towner is asking nicely, please.
  5. Yeah so much for free speech, there was a loud noise and people ran around around scared. I didn't claim to know what it was, I was just letting people know about it. I didnt realize that KICentral was in the market of hiding things from the public. Meanwhile forty posts in a row about B&M vs Intamin or proper capitalization go without being deleted.
  6. If you think Don doesn't tweet or say things directly to kic you're crazy. How about the O'Terpy gravestone, is that marketing 101 to the general public. Plus for all our sakes I would hope Don is at least at the 300 level of marketing classes
  7. For the record I work in an engineering/design firm and we have accidentally sent out plans with spelling errors multiple times. These prorgrams aren't like Microsoft word with red squiggles under misspellings, and if you are in a rush they can go unnoticed.
  8. Do you think its possible the 4200 ft is based on the lenth of the footprint, not the length of the track because it was measured from a plan perspective. maybe the fact that the ride will not be a flat projection but have hills will bump the length up closer to 5000, or maybe i just want it to be longer.
  9. i can say that when i broke my hip when i was 16 that used the old policy to the best i could, and went to the park more often when i was in the wheelchair than after i got out.
