  1. I agree that it appears that she is eating the abdomen. With the mature themes going on previous to this part, I can understand that someone's mindset may lead them to a different conclusion, but you get more than one angle of this situation which clears up any misunderstanding of what is happening.
  2. That night they were doing Wall of Monsters so you would not have gotten past metal detection before 7. Good trip report! You must have done alot of writting since you "noted" many things.
  3. The Racer is a classic ride of Kings Island and Cedar Fair would never have it taken down. It's a classic ride! If they took it down, then they are taking down memories of one of the oldest rides at Kings Island. They wouldn't also take down the Monster or the Scrambler. Well, look at the Big Dipper at GL. That has a ton more history than Racer. I don't think anything is 100% safe.
  4. There was many nights i saw people so scared that they had security help escort them out of the park. Good job! Parents know their children best. Some kids love to see the monsters and get scared. Others freak out. It's best to just let them decide and the park keep doing the warnings that they did.
  5. You have to do what you think is best for your company, and right now it seems like big or unique coasters are the thing to do. Actually, thats really not the trend taking place in the industry, the industry as a whole is more concerned with focusing on "family entertainment". The days of Bigger, Longer, Faster are on hiatus, although pure thrillseekers are keeping it alive, and the focus always changes. Just like technology, trends are quickly outdated, so we shall see! So all the new rollercoasters that have been built in the past 5-10 years, plus all the new ones being built are considered family entertainment? Sweet! Notice also that Nick Parade went bye-bye this year but Firehawk came to the park. Now Nick Parade will be back next year, but no new coaster. In 2009 will it be new coaster, but no Nick Parade? Time will tell.
  6. That would stink to get to the top of the lift hill and then get stuck and have to climb down. Luckily for them, it was only around 71-72 feet.
  7. Exactly, and that's why you don't see many rides taken out for new ones. Yes, for some of us we wish that some of the older attractions (for me it's the antique cars) were still there, but that is just part of change. Kohl's is another example of change. It was a grocery store, then a kind of wal-mart blend that sold firearms, and then moved to department stores. You have to do what you think is best for your company, and right now it seems like big or unique coasters are the thing to do.
  8. Depending on which business you are in. Abrcombie has a certain age gap that they go after and I don't see them in any trouble. I agree that many reasons change for going to KI as folks get older. My grandmother has a great time just going to watch the rides, people watch, watch the shows, and eating some funnel cake. Folks who have kids go and ride the rides with their kids or watch them have the time of their lives. I think KI has a pretty decent set of attractions to cater to different groups. By the way, I hear from numerous sources that Nick Parade will be back next year.
  9. If you were there recently, you would know what else is back there right now. You have just copied posts from other people. I know that simple brush and tree removal seems petty at this point, but it is proof that something is going on. I don't think they would do all that to put in a new bathroom. They do need a new bathroom closer to X-Base.
  10. Sorry Adam, but I am going to have to disagree with you here. I think the different color lights make the tower more attractive. During most of the summer you can see the tower in its normal greenish color for a majority of the day. Let the tower show off a bit in the night hours.
  11. Not dealing with basketballs, but this summer, a person took a cup of ice water onto The Vortex and while going up the lift hill, he threw the contents of the ice water at the riders behind him. One piece of ice struck a child in the eye, which made for one upset dad riding with the child. Once the ride got back to the station, the ride operators kept the restraints down until security and park police arrived. Two park police officers took the suspect to their cruiser, which was waiting at the access road next to The Vortex lift hill.
  12. Well, this means that they didn't order enough jackets, or the 2008 passes are selling like crazy. From what I saw at season pass sales, I would go with not ordering enough.
  13. Word around KI is that there will be between 28-30 operating days in October next year. That's a lot of HH.
  14. Might as well go. Last time you will get the chance till April
  15. I wonder what the name of the new coaster will be? Chances are it will have something with "Hawk" on the end of it! LOL!
  16. A giga coaster has a drop of 300ft. Although I would love to see one at KI, I am doubting this rumor. From what I have read and know, Millennium Force was 25 million to build and steel has gone up in price since then. Not to mention CF doesn't exactly have a lot of money to throw around. There is an article in one of these posts thatt have Cedar Fair stating that they will be spending somewhere between 80-90 million between 2008-2009.
  17. Dont't read into my statement any further than what it says. Not defending, just informing. I stand by my info I gave you all.
  18. Either they stole it off here or someone other than me is talking about this. I didn't send them any info.
  19. Are you guys really going to do Wall of Monsters tonight? That would be great! It has been kinda strange without it the past couple of nights.
  20. Go tonight and see the construction equip for yourself. So.. .. .. .. .. .. not trying to doubt you here at all WHODEY, but I did walk through that area last night and didnt see any construction equipment. Although, i cant say i was looking for it specifically and it was really foggy last night. I may have very well missed it. It is tough to see, but it is there. I will try to get a pic of it tonight when I am there.
  21. Go tonight and see the construction equip for yourself.
  22. There are lockers of very decent size in X-Base that are just 75 cents. Sound like a cheap piece of mind to me. Earlier this month, a Firehawk greeter had a cell phone that was broken in half and was saying, "This is probably what will happen if you take your cell phone on the ride."
  23. Yes, if you go to Fudge N Fun there was a sign outside last night for 99cents a pound. Maybe after that you can catch Don Helbig working the football game.
  24. I was wrong about the hypercoaster...... it is going to be a gigacoaster! If you go to Haunt for the last night, you can see construction equipment next to International Showplace on the side that the dolphin show was on. The ride is going to go from that point, all the way back to the property line. Meaning, this thing is going to set some records folks.
