  1. What would be wrong with a coaster being too close to The Beast? We've all seen how close Firehawk is to FoF right? Well, standing in line for Firehawk does not give away much of Flight of Fear's "secrets" since it is in a building. Probably not a fair comparison. Personally, I don't mind flying by the double helix at over 95 mph on a new hypercoaster. I will be too focused on the ride I am on to worry about The Beast. WHODEY buddy, what secrets? There are hardly any "secrets" left to The Beast. Especially after the many walk backs people have done. I can say for sure there have been at least 2 walk backs this year alone. One during coastercon 2007 and the second on the KIC day. But I think your right about flying by the helix at 95. That would be very cool. I know there is a ton of us who have seen The Beast in walkbacks or in other capacities (i.e. patroling the access roads). Maybe I should more obviously stated that I know what The Beast looks like and I will glady sacrifice seeing a little more of it for an awesome new ride. Yes, The Beast is great as you are flying through the woods, but it is also taking up some prime real estate and if we want more new coasters then small sacrfices may be made. I don't seem much complaining of seeing too much of The Beast from The Vortex so why do so with a new hypercoaster? Personally, I can't wait to see the new KI skyline with the hypercoaster!

  3. All the pics that I have seen just have some woods in the background. Is there anything more concrete? Maybe because there is nothing but woods around them? Sometimes you have to just trust other people. I know it can be rough, but there are people out there who want to give out good info for exciting things happening at KI
  4. You will see the proof when you go into the park next season, or have the poster that flies a plan go over that area in the next couple months. Deforrestation will begin once the season ends.
  5. You may not want to doubt the info i am providing. I was the poster that brought the info about the Villian and Raging Wolf Bobs trains
  6. I think you will see a hypercoaster that is over 200 feet tall and speeds of higher than 95 mph behind TR:TR in 2009. Goodbye to lots of trees. Goodbye to Beast lake.
  7. Well, I believe Sunday is considered a Bare Bones night, so some of your favorite rides, depending on what you like, may be down for the rest of the year. If the crowd is anything like the past two Sundays, expect to walk on rides.
  8. It was just a fun thought, back off a bit. Who would you like to see run it?

    eek! Top gun!

Why take Top Gun out when there is plenty of room to expand the park? There is still going to be a need for coasters that don't have 300 foot drops or that don't go upside down. Top Gun is a good starting off point kids that are beginning to graduate to the bigger rides or, as the comedian Gallagher says, "There comes a point in a person's life when you can't take your head going over you A--!"
  10. I find myself wondering if CF will sell KI and I just can seem them selling KI to a major competitor with CP being just a few hours drive away. It may be fun for us because maybe the people that buy KI would start a coaster war with CP but CF doesn't want to lose any attendance at its flagship park by selling. On the other hand, I was thinking of cool new owners of the park. I thought that either Microsoft or Sony would be really cool to have as owners. Could you imagine the crazy new themeing from your favorite games? Bill Gates could hook us up with millions out of his own pocket to put in our favorite types of coasters or what have you. Just a fun thought.
  11. Try going to to see the video, I dont know if it will come up
  12. If KI got the ferris wheel from GL, I would be as as excited as this kid, when he sees the remote control car! HAHAHAHA!
  13. Check out this article from the Middletown Pulse-Journal. http://www.pulsejournal.com/n/content/oh/s...andassault.html If, for some reason you can't load that article, here is what it says: Mason prosecutor: KI security handled situation properly Employee's mother said she plans to file a lawsuit against park. By Denise G. Callahan Staff Writer Thursday, August 09, 2007 Mason Prosecutor Robert Peeler found no fault with how Kings Island security handled an employee last week. But the employee's mother plans to file a civil lawsuit over her son's treatment. Peeler said he viewed a videotape of the exchange between park security and 17-year-old George Fisher of Springfield Twp. when park security allegedly pushed the youth down and shot him with pepper spray twice. Peeler said park police repeatedly asked Fisher to sit down — saying it was for his own and their safety — but he refused to comply. "They warned him numerous times and he continued to refuse, so they were going to arrest him for disorderly conduct and he resisted arrest," Peeler said. "Police have a difficult job because they never know when someone's outburst is going to lead to injury to themselves or others," he said. The incident arose after the Firehawk ride, where Fisher was working, had to be stopped because one of the rider's legs slipped free. Fisher said he knew his supervisor was going to blame him, so he decided to quit. The supervisor allegedly said Fisher couldn't quit — that he would be fired and ordered him to come to the park's operations office. As they were leaving the ride area, the supervisor apparently called Kings Island security because he said Fisher threatened him. Peeler said they wouldn't just let the boy leave because they needed his badge and other items that would have allowed Fisher free access to the park. Fisher's mother, Lillia, said she plans to file a lawsuit against Kings Island and all of the people who were individually involved. "They do not have a right to hold him. They don't have a right to push him or detain him just because he wanted to quit," she said. Kings Island declined comment on the matter. 14. Well, the difference being that you had to stand over the lake for The Beast and the lake near IJ, you don't. Also, to support what you are saying, we know people will complain about anything and everything. Numerous guests make complaints to guest relations about the weather. I am sure GR could just direct connect with God and fix that right away.
  15. I think everyone on here has been saying, "If you don't like crowds, don't go on Saturday." I am sorry you didn't have the best time ever SKJackson, but I do not think that comparing KI to Knott's is very fair since they have been doing Halloween events for as long as KI has been open. To try to make KI into Knott's overnight would be insane. Take KI for what it's worth because it is trying to catch up. I am sorry you drove 6 hours to KI for only two haunts, but if you are posting on here, the chances are likely that you knew it was going to be crowded on a Saturday. Don't get so upset when you come onto a KI website, bash a thing going on at the park, and then get a ton of crap from the posters on it. That is sort of like going on a Michigan website as an Ohio State fan, telling them Michigan stinks, and then think the posters on there will completely agree with your point of view. That is great that you are a Golden Ticket voter, but the way you used it in your posting makes it seem like you are using it to belittle other posters in here, even if that was not your intent. Though some folks in here may not have the knowledge you have, don't make general statements about the posters in here. There is no good that can come from that. I hope you do come back to KI sometime and have a better experience.
  16. Well... not too disappointing when most of us have said that it wasn't coming to KI. Great for KD! I would rather let them have Dominator so we can get something better than that in the future. Also, I think I were KD that I would keep the name Dominator since it relates so well to Dominion.
  17. I know the guy who gives the info to lemon chill guy and he says Nick stays! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
  18. I will be there! Seems like a great opportunity to see the possible NHL stars of tomorrow. Also, if you like walking on rides, Sunday is the day to go!
  19. I like how Halloween Haunt is this year. You can see things on basic television that are far more crazy than what's going on at the park. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to go. Plus, you can always go on Sunday to not get scared and ride the rides and take the kids in their halloween outfits so they can do some trick or treating.
  20. Good stuff! My favorite is the skeleton keg stand! He is still going! LOL!
  21. If they have that in a window on International Street, I think they should put the Micheal Vick doghouse back where it was originally! Didn't Owen Wilson attempt suicide recently too?
  22. a. Admissions and per caps are UP at Six Flags. Quite a bit, actually. So where do you get your idea that Six Flags can't get anyone to go to their parks? If that WERE the case, who was in the park to be tossed out, since NO ONE goes? b. What law IN ILLINOIS, please, says a smoker must be informed to put out his/her cigarette before being asked to leave? Specifically, please. Besides, Six Flags Great America wasn't enforcing a law, but rather their own policy. If a law were being enforced, there probably would have been a citation and/or arrest, and charges filed. There was no mention of any of that, but rather that the patron was ejected from the park. As in asked to leave the privately owned property of Six Flags. c. Six Flags CAN go around making up stuff on their own property. They own the property, they set the rules. As long as they don't discriminate under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, provide a safe and healthy environment (gee, what is a non-smoking policy for), and comply with other Federal, state and local laws, they are free to designate whatever conduct rules they wish. d. The law in Ohio has nothing to do with this at all. State laws can and do vary widely. If I were seeking legal advice in Illinois, I'd seek out a competent attorney in that jurisdiction. I sure wouldn't start assuming that because something is the rule in Ohio it is the law in Illinois. Hint: Cedar Point and Six Flags Great America operate under very, very different legal landscapes. Interpreter, thank you so much for setting the record straight. I, myself was working on it when you posted it. I have 8 years of experience in the legal system (and not in a bad way), and this was complete craziness. SF is really digging themselves a hole with this incident. You want all people to be able to come enjoy the park, smoker or non-smoker. That is why they have the designated area. I am not a smoker but I kind of feel bad for the people who were kicked out of the park for that. I wonder if smoking gets to the point where you just subconsciously light up and not really realize your surrounding. A warning does usually suffice. If seen again smoking in complete disregard of the rules that have been verbally stated, then I agree that the person should lose park privileges for the day. On the other hand, I don't know if subconscious smoking is a fair defense either. You are at a place where there is thousands of other people (especially children) that do not smoke and lighting up in an area that you are not supposed to can be seen as extremely rude. Even further, I have seen smokers, in a non-designated area, get told to quit smoking and then make a big scene over it. Why do this? The smoker was in the wrong. With the case in point, I would like to know further information of how their park has the smoking rules displayed. I have no personal experience at the park in question and don't think it is fair for me to make my final judgement on this incident without further investigation of the facts.
  23. Do you have any proof of any of this or are you just speculating? I'm gonna guess speculating. I think it would be known if TR's motor had exploded. TR's motor is jacked up and that's why all the themeing has been taken out of it. They need to get the themeing out so they can work on it. It did not explode. It is just messed up.
  24. I would love for them to put anything in that makes the Eiffel Tower look small. Though Spirit Song, Sean Hannity Freedom Tour, and Weird Al, were all great, I think TimberWolf is sitting on too prime of real estate. I would not be suprised if they were to remove it to place a new ride there in the future. If they keep TimberWolf, I would like them to try to get some more acts even. I wouldn't even mind a reoccuring local band day. Have a bunch of locals in to try and build a fan base. Back to the new ride stuff..... I think that anything Kings Island does for a new coaster in Rivertown will not be like a cookie cutter coaster. Meaning, something new would definetly be an original due to the terrian. Lots of planning and land development will need to occur to place a new coaster in Rivertown. The land behind what the average park goer sees is not going to be easily developed. If there is something back there that is waiting to be brought to life, it probably won't happen until 2009. I definetly think that if they were to make KI's skyline look more like CP, that their return on investment would be through the roof!
  25. The smoking policy is very hard to enforce. Some people do not take the time to read the maps that say that there are designated smoking areas. When there is tens of thousands of people at the park and just a handfull of security, the smokers are less likely to be seen out of the designated smoking area. Also, it is even harder at night because you can only smell it or see the red tip and some people are very good at hiding that. If you are going to enforce that rule they should put some big sign by the front gate to let people know of the rule change. I think this is a PR nightmare.
