  1. For comparison purposes...

The Beast testing prior to opening in 1979: (From KICentral's Youtube Page)

Note: The ride's helix tunnels are still under construction and the brakes before the final helix were a last-minute installation prior to opening.

The Beast in 1999: (For some reason still "official" POV)

    http://www.youtube.c...h?v=KlK5Znry_5U

The ride still has the original brakes from '79 as the "new" trim brakes were installed in 2002.

The Beast in 2010: (From Coasterforce)

The Beast as it operated in 2010, ala last season. Cedar Fair has slowed down the first lifthill so that the train ahead of you can climb the second hill and drop into the helix before you "begin" the ride, probably to improve capacity.

Hope this clears some things up.

You can't compare videos like this. Too many factors.

  2. Wow, I had no Idea FOF was that intricate!

So do the KI elves store stuff only in the center of the floor? Or is there also stuff stored along the walls? What all is in there? (Apologies for all the questions, I'm just fascinated by this.)

I'll look more carefully next ride.

All I want for Christmas is OPENING DAY!!!!!

There has been six different LIM bowls all with the same ride profile.

  3. No, I'm sorry but just no.

Anyways, has this not been posted? (From Screamscape)

(11/24/10) Is there a glimmer of hope for Son of Beast? Well… not for 2011, but according to an anonymous source who was at IAAPA last week, they claim to have overhead a conversation between someone from Cedar Fair and the Rocky Mountain guys about possibly doing work on Son of Beast in the future. Of course this may be every coaster fanboys dream rumor being talked about as well... so take this with a grain of salt until we hear something more serious.

Texas Giant looks like fun though, right?

From TPR. Many more pictures of the New Texas Giant is on that site.

  4. Don't really believe it but if it is true, I will be extremely happy. Rocky mountain construction does some good work...

Imagine Son of Beast with a layout looking like this

    148572_10150092758505991_65853440990_7713407_3528424_n.jpg

Rocky Mountain construction also had a 'Topper track' It replaces the top three layers of wood... Tremors at Silverwood is having 2,000 feet of track replaced.

    Looks something like this

(No, the wheels will not hit the bolts)

  5. The ride layout is a little meh. So many spots for some airtime, but the trains just go over the hills like a Togo jet coaster. As for the view, I rather be riding Formula Rossa. The outside of Ferrari world will look beautiful once it's completed and it's located next to Abu Dhabi. Great looking city.

I agree with Rumor smasher though, they should of just made the ride the tallest and added something onto the end. Not sure if they had enough room for that, but they could easily afford it.

  6. Over half the time they are reliable when they post something and I choose to believe them over wikipedia.

6 correct answers out of 10 is over half right.

    Unfortunately, 60% is still failing.

Actually in a lot of schools today 60% is passing

    What schools?

    Mine is like that.

  7. Texas Giant was around 5000 feet when it first opened, It was also a big wooden coaster. Here is what has happened to Texas Giant so far.

    33_texas_giant_refurb_demo_october_31_tpr.png

The original Texas Giant had a height 143'(53 angle drop) and now it will be 153' (79 angle drop). If SOB did receive the Iron Horse track, I'm sure a lot of the ride would be re-profiled and some of the ride will be removed.
