  1. Thanks for the GRAND welcome! This group seems great and hope to see you all on the midways!!! TJ
  2. I found these two stories conflicting myself. 1. WLWT A power outage Sunday evening briefly shut down portions of Kings Island. Park spokesman Don Helbig said the outage lasted for less than an hour and did not affect the entire park. Helbig said no passengers were stuck on any rides, which can continue operations on backup generators, during the outage. After power was restored, the rides were checked by park employees before reopening to the public. 2. jbaker@enquirer.com Most of the rides, shops and restaurants that closed about 6:30 p.m. were reopened by 9:30 p.m., said Don Helbig. Some park visitors had to be escorted off stopped rides, he said. As I left at 11:30pm they either did not have power or chose to shut down all the International street resturants, gift shops, the Festhaus, the computers at the main gate, the metal detectors, the parking lot lights and fountains.
  3. I love the chilli cheese fries at Potato Works, almost as good as CP's (just need to be a little thicker) GREAT SNACK for $6.99. What they need is chesse on a stick!! As for meals I normally leave the park since most resturants are becoming chains anyway's, I still need to check out Outer Hanks and Panda!
  4. My guess is Gravity Group, possibly GCI. I guessed this back in 2009 when DD was for sale just did not want to say anything while employeed just incase I was right, LOL
  5. Thats would be cool! I was looking for the museum on my first trip there. I was so used to visiting town hall at CP. Kings Island has a lot of History and I could not even find a book about it in the gift shops.
  6. Hello,Hello welcome to KIC! :]

  7. In my opion Kings Island has some uppers! Corkcrew vs Vortex Iron Dragon Vs Top Gun Blue Streak Vs Racer Mine Ride Vs. Adventure Express KI has Drop Tower and Delirum The only place CP wins is that they have a Coal Powered train, a lake, and resorts. Both parks have their own personality and I love them both!! Once Cedar Fair can practice what they preach with gest service they will rock the industry!!
  8. I thought Delerium was smaller! But no they are exactly the same, I even heard the rumor that one travels clockwise and the other travels conter clockwise but i also see thats not true.
  9. At this time I am not employeed by Kings Island or any other Cedar Fair park. I am employeed full time and happy but have things pending so I always need to be careful of my opinions, LOL.
  10. I just wanted to say Hi, I am a new member here at KI Central and am new to Kings Island. I grew up in Ohio going to CP for 20+ years, working there for multiple years as a general employee and in management. I spent the middle years in Florida spending time at Disney and Universal. Outside of work and my family I am a huge amusement park fan, not just for coasters but EVERYTHING!! I have recently moved to Dayton and KI is now my home park. I like this group and hope to have a great time meeting more park fans!! I have never spent much times on the boards due to employee restrictions and arguments, . MANTIS1996
  11. CP had a long shut down for a part last year, a transmission issue was what I heard. I find it strange that Delrium has always had a clunking in between swings (this year, my first year at KI) and I never felt that at CP on MaxAir.
  12. I was in the park yesterday and it was crazy for the guests and workers. Personally I was not looking for any refund or comp tickets but I think some people do deserve them. Mr Kinzel once said to the employees "For many of our guests, their visit to our park is the biggest day of the summer. Do everything you can to make it a wonderful memory they'll never forget." In guest service I many times apologize for things that were beyond my control. This was an awesome oppertunity for the park to show the guests they really do care. Besides the water rides being opened and closed on and off Delirum never ran, neither did Drop Tower, and of course SOB. Even up to 11pm the resturants that did have power had to manually run credit cards. No music with the fireworks, all the up front gift shops and resturants were closed, and they had only generators with spot lights lighting the parking lot.
