House
Has anybody been there? I think instead of spending 3 days at Cedar Point, we are going to do 2 days there, then a day at Michigan's Adventure. How nice is their water park compared to KI and CP? How are the roller coasters? What kind of perks do we get for being PP holders? ERT? Free Parking? I'm seeing on the website that they have a rental fee for tubes. Is this just for normal tube use? I've neven seen a water park charge for using tubes before. Jason B
I am thinking of doing the same as well and was just getting ready to post the same questions.
House
Which day are you planning on going?
Rustbucket
I have not used their water park, but the entire park is quite small. I believe the park is smaller than Geauga Lake used to be (without the Sea World part). The parking two years ago was $6. With Platinum pass, there should not be a parking fee. The best coaster is Shivering Timbers. This is an out and back wooden coaster with decent airtime and a helix ending. Good CCI coaster, but not great. Wolverine Wildcat is also a good wooden coaster. Back seat ride. Zach's Zoomer is a CCI version of "Beastie". Corkscrew is very much like the one at Cedar Point but has a helix. Mad Mouse is a wild mouse ride. Thunderhawk is an inverted coaster from Vekoma. This was relocated from Geauga Lake.
The Interpreter
And under no circumstances should you miss the Arrow mousey! It's quite nice... The food in the park leaves much to be desired. I'd pack a cooler or leave the park to eat.

Good CCI coaster, but not great. MA fanboys would eat you alive for saying that ST is "good but not great" Thunderhawk is an inverted coaster from Vekoma. This was relocated from Geauga Lake. From what I've heard it is one of the better and smoother SLC's. I'm going soon also and I would also like to ask about the tube rental. Does that mean you can't use the tube slides without paying the money?
Touchdown
Shivering Timbers is worth the trip alone. 2nd most airtime on a wooden coaster Ive ever experienced (obviously Voyage is #1.)
The Interpreter
As far as I am concerned Rustbelt speaks truth. I would not put Shivering Timbers anywhere near the top of my list of great woodies. In fact, I am not sure it even belongs on that list. Up/air/down...repeat...over and over and over. Not my cup of tea. And it hasn't exactly been meticulously maintained from a ride comfort standpoint. I am quite sure Cedar Fair has done everything it can to ensure the ride is safe, but it is by no means the glass smooth coaster it was when it opened. Touchdown
^Not an "air whore" Terpy? I know I am, with few exceptions most of my top 10 steel and wooden coasters have a whole lot of airtime on them.
The Interpreter
I absolutely love airtime, but I love strong laterals even more; something that Shivering Timbers is virtually completely devoid of. The coaster now known as Bizarro at Six Flags New England was for a very long time my favorite steel coaster...replaced only by the front seat of Maverick. When Shivering Timbers opened, I learned a lot about myself and my coaster riding preferences...and about CCI coasters. I greatly preferred Rampage at what was then Visionland, now Alabama Adventure. Sadly, neither of those two coasters delivers the type of rides they did when they opened. Give me Tremors, The Georgia Cyclone or The Riverside Cyclone before its first drop was raised any day. Or Maverick. Y'all can enjoy Shivering Timbers, and I hope you do. I have other coaster priorities these days.
House
Front row of maverick is my favorite as well. never ride back row with bruised thighs from magnum though, its pure torture! I did find out from a guy on thrillnetwork that the tubes only cost extra for the wave pool.
KI Kevin
Give me Tremors, The Georgia Cyclone or The Riverside Cyclone before its first drop was raised any day. So would you say Georgia Cyclone, is the best ride at SFOG? I'm personally looking forward to their four B&M coasters the most.

I know Terpy and I had some disagreement on this a few years back. Out of all CCI coasters, I like Boulder Dash the most. Ghostrider was an exceptional coaster, but it has gotten quite rough over the years. Shivering Timbers did not do much for me. I was really expecting very strong air time, but Boulder Dash, T-Express and Renegade really blew Shivering Timbers away when I rode them last year. The Interpreter
The Georgia Cyclone is a violent, turbulent ride. Most enthusiasts don't care for it. I love going to events at Six Flags Over Georgia when there is ERT on other coasters and The Georgia Cyclone. More than once, I have been its only rider...while virtually everyone else was over riding Goliath and/or The Georgia Scorcher. Then again, I've always been like that. At an ACE convention held at Kings Island many years ago, all the coasters were open for ERT. While others were off at The Beast, Vortex, Racer, etc., I marathoned on King Cobra, and was the only rider on the train I was riding! My guess is that you liked Drachen Fire as well as Magnum XL-200. BTW, one thing I did not like about GC was bouncing or Jack hammering effect. I need to get back to SFOG to ride Goliath. The Interpreter
I adore Magnum. I was not a fan of Drachen Fire. I do not particularly like being bashed in the head. Had it not had over the shoulder restraints, I'd have loved it.
