Latest Diamondback Construction, Halloween Haunt Teaser, Be a Part of a World Record& More!

Standing 230ft tall, Diamondback will be the tallest and fastest coaster at Kings Island. Immediately following the announcement on August 6th, vertical construction was kicked into overdrive and pieces of track were erected almost on a daily basis. Currently the final brake run, ascent to the lift hill, and most of the splashdown are complete along with various supports throughout the park. "Diamondback will change the landscape for ride enthusiasts here at Kings Island." said Don Helbig, area manager of public relations for the park. As Summer turns to Fall, Kings Island transforms from a fun summer getaway into a haunted haven for demons, beasts, werewolves and the undead. Kings Island's Halloween Haunt will be held on Friday and Saturday nights in October and this year will be bigger, badder and far more evil than ever! One of the most anticipated new attractions at Halloween Haunt will be that all new URGENT SCARE, a 3,666sq ft attraction that is themed to a hospital located in a small town where there is a disease that is spreading throughout the village infecting everyone in sight. Kings Island may be temporarily closed but for one last time before the darkness of Haunt falls upon the park you can visit Kings Island on the September Bonus Days! Kings Island will be open on Friday, September 19th from 5pm until 10pm and Saturday, September 20th from 10am until 10pm! As an added bonus, all 2008 and 2009 season pass holders will be able to bring a friend with them for a specially discounted price! Click here for details! In addition to the bring-a-friend discounts, Kings Island also invites its guests to participate in the world's largest line dance on Saturday, Sept 20th! The Guinness Book of World Records will be on hand to sanctify the record, which is open to anyone who wishes to participate in the event. Four members of the Rocketts will be on hand to lead the dance on the September 20th.

Wow Diamondback is really going up fast. I am sure that the landscape around rivertown sure has changed now. Will Urgent Scare open up as one of the earlier haunt attractions or when all the other ones open up later?
