  1. The park had a policy in place, they were very genrous to give him a raincheck when they are not obligated to give him anything at all. He took the risk of park closure when he decided to go to the park. The park was generous to him and went above and beyond what they usually do. Sure, it may not be what HE wanted, but its better than nothing. There are plenty of other ways to sell the tickets, he could've done it online, talked to co-workers, neighbors, etc. He had his daughter do it for him on park property when they clearly as most private businesses do, have a no solicitation rule, he shouldnt have broken that rule or tried to. CF has done some pretty un-friendly things to guests in the past but I'm glad they stood firm on this one and didnt treat him differently than the other guests just because he was whining. They were nicer than needed but he still wanted more, dont bite the hand that feeds. On the other hand, I remember a few times when PKI just caved in to guests because they were way too afraid of a little bad publicity. Last year when some height requirements changed one lady complained that her kids werent tall enough to ride what they rode last year and wanted refunds on all her passes. I remember even as teh park was winding down for the closure of the 2004 season hearing about the height requirement changes that would soon be coming. The fact that this lady did not make any attempt to research the product before she bought it is her problem but instead, since she was ignorant, PKI sent a spokesperson on local news to present her with 8 free season passes for her and her extended family. What a joke.
  2. ^I'm pretty sure they dont need an ok from styx since its not a styx themed ride and rengade is a word in the english language. I dont think styx can copyright that or else we'd have to pay to say the word renegade, there are also many other songs and books called renegade that were around before styx's song. This is really cool and exciting news the only down side is that in all the CF parks I've been too (excluding the newly aquired paramount parks) I've never had a good ride on one of their wooden coasters. Mean Streak is awful, Blue streak was fun but still way too rough, the vilian and raging wolf bobs are horribly maintained and rough and I hear thunderhawk at Dorney is a very uncomfortable ride. Hats off to Cedar Fair for purchasing a new woody, but no hats off to them for maintaining their other ones.
  3. This story still isnt on WKRC's website or any other website.
  4. ^The scare zones only have charecters that will scare you during fearfest, during fearfest there is limited rides operation so at night when the park turns things over to fearfest you should be there for fearfest, not the normal park atmosphere.
  5. I remember like the first year they did fearfest and the kid version, cant remember if they called it nick or treat back then or not. I dont remember how old I was but I remember taking my little sister around the halloween events and her crying along with a bunch of other kids everywhere because the thing was so bad. I remember countless kids going to get candy from an employee handing out but the employee would tell the kids they needed some sort of map that had to be colored and you got the map when you bought a fun pack or something, I remember screaming parents, hay, and smashed pumpkins everywhere. I'm glad to see the event has turned around to be better for kids. I remember working last year in the rides department when Id watch the kids they always seemed to have a blast.
  6. Speaking as someone who used to work and is related to a current guest relations employee at PKI, SOB is not complained about as much as you think, there are other more pressing issues guests confront the guest realtions department about.
  7. Thanks for posting those Avatar, those are great That was a fun day, I wish I would've volunteered to dress up.
  8. ^We were discussing holiday horror and differnt views on it. Please leave the moderating to the moderators and read before criticizing... Thanks! -CombatStupendous89
  9. ^lol, i was just making a point that you cant make everyone happy and cater to everyones opinions cause someone will always disagree. Yeah, its not called "christmas" fest, but its pretty obvious that it is. Still a great event none the less, and its in no way offensive to anyones beliefs.
  10. ^Actaully, the whole spongebob thing is a conspiracy. Quite a few radical "family values" groups have attempted distributing videos to schools about how Spongebob is really subliminal support for homosexuality. However, that is just a conspiracy and has never been admitted, but denunced by the shows creator Stephen Hillenberg, if it were true, Nickelodeon would probably be too afraid to run it. King Bowser, how is holiday horror stepping on someones ideals? Because its christmas and gore mixed? What abou winterfest, an event that was almost entirely based on Christmas, yet I didnt see a Kwanza section or Chaunukah section. Wasn't that kind of stepping on Jewish ideals? Not saying your wrong, but I dont see anything wrong with Holiday Horror, its not like their's going to be ghosts and goblins around a manger scene.
  11. ^The Lights and no smoking speils in the station still work and The Beast roars on the lift hills are still on. The only thing removed was the roar in the station.
  12. Steel Venom was closed when I went but when I went to CP WT was amazing! PKIBeast, Im glad to hear the villian will be re-habbed, God knows it needs it terribly. By far, the worst coaster I've ever beeen on, including Son of Beast.
  13. I dont know what they should do with SOB but I know what should be done with this topic, it should be closed. I know what they should do with swanky, remind him of the search feature. Seriously, its not that hard.
  14. The pki website isnt to bad, but extremely hard to navigate and find what your looking for, even before i contributed to this site or even posted here I always reccomended PKIC to relaitves looking to come to PKI.
  15. ^I believe coastersnsich took those pictures. Topgun1993, the back porch picnic grove, like the actual picnic grove, can be rented out by groups that want to enjoy a private picnic but arent going to use a whole area in the actual picnic grove.
  16. ^Thanks PKIBeast and no, you are not an a-hole on this site, we are glad you contribute your posts here, everyone makes this site what it is and every little post counts for something and everyone is generally willing to listen with an open mind on here. Everyone seems to have a general understanding of eachother, thats what makes this site the best and most popular pki fan site, unlike some of the other ones where the little kids moderate and staff while the few that post runr ampant with garbage. Like PKIBeast said, many people have become good friends through this site, he and I got in awful arguments that even got us banned temporarily about 2 years ago and now were great friends, hopefulyl we'll be meetung up for the first time at the huge PKIC event/trip planned this summer. PKIC is just going to continue to grow and get even better, especially witht he dedication all you guys give. Everyone helps and everyone appreciates it! This site, just like Kings Island, is for everyone. No matter what age you are theres something here for you and a place for you, the other sites in no way offer that same feel.
  17. ^Are you sure, I'm about 90 percent sure ti was, my neighbor has one and he has nothing to do with ACE.
  18. The video was for sale during the 2004 season in the parks gift shops, hopefully someone has the video and would be willing to make copies for a price. However, I personally have no desire EVER to see that video again. 2005 was my final year working at the park and my home ride was The Beast, i have that video memorized. The year was 1979... ...disco was still hot... ...Americans were watching Dallas on television.... ....and Monday Night Footballl ...while at the silver screen star trek was making its debut... ...and in a small corner of souther ohio... ...Something BIG was happening.... ...something huge.... ...a monster... ...it could only be called The Beast... ...and this is its story! Oh and I can go on MUCH longer.
