If Wings does not get the Nicktoon make over, It might be turned into one of the other themed restuarants that was on their survey. CBS Cafe or Adams Family. But, unless they retheme that area of the park I don't see these two fitting in very well. I still would like to see them expand the NU are to the foot bridge by the exit to WWC, then they could retheme Wings into the Nicktoon cafe and make it fit into the surrounding area.

What are the chances PKI will get a SpongBob ride.

Yes, But I will say they really don't know who the Flintstones, and other HB characters are, Just Scooby. -

Why I would agree that SDHC could use more 3 Dimensional Animatronics and not just the flat cardboards, overall I think they ride is well done. (Yes, they need to keep the guns working) I and my family just moved to Ohio about 2 months ago from florida (were we had annual passes to Universal, Sea World and Disney). But, our kids enjoy the Scooby Doo ride as much as ET or Cat in the Hat. I really do hope they are able to pull of a Seuss Landing type of themed area, I would even settle for a Fivel, Curious George, Barney (Universal Studios) type area. One think that Universal and Disney do that PKI is starting to get is that along with the theming for the ride and area you need to have music that adds to the experience. Example: Wild Thornberry has the music playing at the ride entrance but not on the ride. Tomb Raider does a much better job incorporating the music with the entire experience. On a side note: Has anyone ever noticed that the music from the Phontom Theater is the same music on the main lift for Journey to Atlantis at Sea World in Florida. -

I hope they do get SpongBob. It would be really nice for the park to have two quality indoor dark rides. (SpongBob and Scooby Doo). I think this would be a positive step for the park as it works on becoming more of a Universal/Disney type park. There are very few other parks in the US that have two quality dark rides outside of Disney and Universal. My kids will love this. -

Check the initial post, I think you will find that it was meant to take a little different approach to the subject that was different than previous postings. -

Almost everything I have read says the Green Slime Zone is Gone. Not just being redone. -

You may be right, but I hope not. If they do a walk through attraction with a kids play area I hope they really do it well. What do you think about them putting one or two smaller rides inside the SpongBob building. (Like Planktons free fall) -
So, what do you think the chances are that PKI will get the SpongBob ride next year. I think they are pretty good, here is why: First: If the Avatar coaster really is a Zamperla Disko Coaster then this will not be a 'major' ride to anchor next years Nickelodeon Universe. Second: If the park does purchase a package deal from Zamperla for the other rides, then this will allow them to save some money freeing up capital for a major attraction (i.e. SpongBob) What do you think?

What exactly is going to happen in HB?
ragerunner replied to BarkerCounty182's topic in Coming Attractions
Their rides match the discription of what PKI annouced. And it lets PKI do their needed work with one company. But, anything is possible. -

Here is what I think will be the new rides for the Nickelodeon Universe: Avatar - I think this will be a new Zamperla coaster using the same type of design and technology as a Disko but a longer track. Plankton (Free Fall) - Zamperla Jumping Star Ride Danny Phantom (Flying Ride) - Zamperla Kite Flyer Azul (Dora's Train Ride) - Zamperla Rio Grande Train Ride Blue's (Jumping Journey) - Zamperla Jump Around SpongBob - I don't know. Zamperla will also do the modifications to the Carousel (turn it into Nick) and supply new bumper cars (or modify the old ones) for the Jimmy Neutron Outerspace bumper car ride. -
Has any one heard weather or not they will have a Nickelodeon Show inside the old Enchanted Theater. (Example: Playhouse Disney at Disney-MGM and the Barney Show at Universal Studios Orlando.

I am looking for a significant ride package from Zamperla. -
I do think that this type of coaster layout might take away some of the rides theming, at least along the track area. They could still theme the ride station and wait area.
-
If avatar do turn out to be the Zamperla Disko Coaster like the one being shown on the link at Screamscape then it will need to be placed in a long, fairly narrow, location in the Nick area. Any guess' where?
-
You are right, it could be the indoor Mt. Olympus theme park coaster, but it will not be the Sea World coaster, they are adding a small shamu type coaster like they did at Sea World San Antonio. And as I said earlier in the post, if it is not the Mack then I do believe it will be the Zamperla Disko Coaster (Parmount does like to buy things in pairs), which is also being rumored for Parmounts Great America. My post was not to say it could only be PKI but that after look at 'major' parks they seemed to be a logical guess.

It seems to make a lot of sense that PKI will expand the new Nick area to the foot bridge with the little waterfalls next to the exit of WWC. This would allow the park to retheme Wings into the Nicktoon Cafe and they could even remove the food stand between the entrance and exit of WWC and install one of the new rides like, the Jimmy Neutron ride (zamperla kite ride), in this location. They could then remove the Old time photo area and small stage giving them room for the Avatar coaster. I think they will then put the Dora area over were the little trains and Scooby Doo coaster is. This would then set the new Nickelodeon area into 3 zones. With the Avatar, Wild Thornberry's and WWC as an area that focuses on pre-teen and families, with Dora (preschool area) over on the other side as another zone with SpongBob and SDHC anchoring the middle zone that would cater to both the pre-teens and preschoolers and their families. What do you think the new layout will be?

Does anyone else have a guess what other major theme park besides PKI that might be in line for a Mack family coaster?
-
Let look at who might be in the position to add a Mack coaster next year: -Six Flags has announced most of their new coasters and the rest of their parks are going to get AstroWorld attractions. -Cedar Fair has announced their attraction at Michigan's Adventure, Cedar Point (semi-conformed), Worlds of Fun, Dorney won't get this, which leaves Knotts Berry Farm and Camp Snoopy (I don't think this fits either one of them) -Dollywood has made their annoucement. -Silver Dollar City will not build two coasters back to back. -Disney will not be getting it. -Universal takes more time than a winter season to put their rides together. -Sea World Orlando has made their annoucement and so has Sea World San Deigo, this only leave Sea World Texas an they don't seem to be ready for this type of ride. -Both Busch Gardens parks add major attractions this year and do not follow up the next year with another major attraction. -An most of the Parmount parks have made their announcements. -I think PKI is the only one left on the list that is viable for the Mack ride.
-
Well, I am still sticking with the Mack ride, but I post a little while back that I believe the other rides will be by Zamperla, and I list what each ride would be. So, if it is not a Mack then I think it will be a new version of Zamperla's Disko ride only with a coaster track and smaller cars.
-
Parmount has done some work with Mack in the past, i.e. Wild Mouse Coasters, (the Fly) and Avalanche at Kings Dominion. They have also show they are willing to embrace launch technology not only at Kings Island but at Kings Dominion and that they feel comfortable with it.
-
Why won't it be a Mack product?
-
They might just suprise us. But, even if the SpongBob turns out to be and enclosed walk through with may be a good indoor kids play area, along with Avatar it should still be pretty good.
-
Screamscape is reporting that Mack "is working on a project with a major US park operator to open a “new-age Mack Powered Coaster†for the Spring of 2006. They liken the experience to a Family Launched Coaster, except that this ride can be launched and decelerated at any point on the track." This would fit the bill for the Avatar coaster. This would also make the rumors that the coaster would spin seem valid, since Mack has done a spinning coaster car with their Euro-Mir coaster. So, if Avatar is this "major" mack coaster will the SpongBob ride still happen? Mack has a lot of experience with dark ride systems. Could we get lucky enough that PKI will unveil two major themed rides in the same year. If they do, their comments that this will be Disney or Universal like might just be true.

Kings Island to Overhaul Children's Area for 2006
ragerunner replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
While I am no insider at Kings Island, I think their new rides will be from Zamperla. Here is why. Avatar - I think this will be a new Zamperla coaster using the same type of design and technology as a Disko but a longer track. Plankton (Free Fall) - Zamperla Jumping Star Ride Danny Phantom (Flying Ride) - Zamperla Kite Flyer Azul (Dora's Train Ride) - Zamperla Rio Grande Train Ride Blue's (Jumping Journey) - Zamperla Jump Around If SpongBob is a ride it might be a Zamperla Zig Zag Coaster Ride as an indoor themed dark ride. Zamperla can also do the need modifications to the Carousel and supply new bumper cars for the Jimmy Neutron Outerspace bumper car ride. Of course each ride will be themed to its appropriate characters. This allows PKI to do all there ride work with one company and each of these rides can be ridden by adults as well as kids. Here is Zamperla's website to check each of these attractions out. Zamperla -
I really like International Street. There is something special about entering the park and having the fountains and tower right there. The feeling is almost magical, very few other parks have the ability to set that kind of tone when you enter the park. i.e. Disney, and Islands of Adventure.
