It would be even more odd if Great Adventure hadn't done it this year.

I find it odd that Busch agreed to build on those man-made islands since they mess up the ecosystem and the currents.

A clone of Italian Job with different theming is always a possibility since Six Flags seems to like to use stock designs for their new family coasters. There isn't one on the west coast and it fits the 48 inch height requirement. Six Flags installed outdoor clones of FOF a few years after Paramount debuted these coasters at KI and KD, but then again that was under the old SF regime.

^ CGA has an Invertigo named "Invertigo"... Also what about MIA?
-
Here's an idea: CF could install Headspin at KI and buy the other Deja Vu from Six Flags, also install it at KI and we would become the first park with every version of the Vekoma Boomerang!

I drive by Kings Island at night about once a week and since the end of the season The Beast lights have always been on as have the red scrolling signs.

I've never ridden or seen Kingda Ka in person but how can they say that it's scarier than Top Thrill Dragster when it's taller, faster and has a huge second hill?

I didn't say the one on I-street was in Nickelodeon. Clearly it's on I-street. I did say that one of the closest smoking areas to Nick is on I-street depending on where you are (Haunted Castle, Swings, Atom Smashers, Blue Skidoo). The smoking area between Reptar and Phantom Flyers is missing from the map this year. The smoking areas in and around Nick have not changed from last year.
-
I noticed that the smoking area on the pathway from Coney Mall to the pizza place in Rivertown has been removed. They have also (according to the KI map) removed all the smoking areas from Nick Universe.
Also as stated in my trip report posted elsewhere, they have removed the glass blower shop from International Street and have opened a new shop called Thrillseekers which used to be the Animation Station.
The smoking areas in Nick have not changed from last year. The closest ones are next to lost parents, the pathway between Reptar and Phantom Flyers, and on I-street across from Graeters.

It's not the loop, maybe the horse shoe turn

I hate to burst everyone’s bubble regarding the alleged new USED ride. Being a rider of XF for the last 4 years I must say CF is really giving PKI guests the shaft by sending them this USED ride instead of giving them a new one that they deserve. While XF may seem like a great ride in actuality it’s just a gimmick ride. Once you ride it the thrill is over and it doesn’t really warrant a re-ride. PKI is merely getting a USED troublesome ride that has terrible capacity. I think PKI ride ops are great but I don’t think anyone not even the designers can operate this USED ride efficiently. You will soon find out as you wait in your three hour plus line for a USED ride that’s in my opinion not worth a half hour wait.
I know that you think I might be a bit bitter because XF used to be at my home park and I am. I am bitter that CF took it without any warning, although in the long run I am sure it was the right business decision. I will not miss the ride but I will miss what it added to the park in perception.
I know if PKI was my home park I would not be happy to be getting a CRAPPY USED RIDE! So look around your park and don’t think it won’t happen to you but in the meantime good luck PKI – I hope you have fun with your new USED toy!
Oh yeah – for those who say GL has poor customer service you might want to actually make that 4 hour trip instead of believing what you hear.
Is that why you road it for four years?

New coasters are painted before they are put up, so I don't see why it wouldn't paint be first. Seems like it would be more cost effective and take less time to be able to paint on the ground. As opposed to getting a cherry picker in the ride area. Plus there are be plenty of things going on in a ride area once installation begins without painters getting in the way.

This is a little of topic but I've never been to SFMM and I saw Deja Vu on RCDB. Does anyone know, does it have a lift system like Face/Off or some kind of propulsion system like Wicked Twister?
-
Uh, he meant to type 3 1/2-4 hours which, when written another way is 3.5-4 hours. Come on now, do you honestly expect a ride to have an 11.5 hour wait?
Don't feed the trolls.
I'm sorry, I thought sarcasm was welcome here. Don't call me a troll. You don't know who I am.
-
I bet on the average weekend that line will upwards of 31/2-4 hours long with no doubt in my mind at all. Really instead of rushing this I really think the park would have been better to focus on Son of Beast this year and just cleaning up the park. And waiting to put a B&M flier in the spot until 2008. B&M fliers I think have much better capcity than the Vekmoa fliers because of how the two rides load the guest.
31/2-4 hours = 11.5 hours I don't know if I'd wait that long for any ride. And it's been said before but it's not about Kings Island or any other park getting a flying coaster, it's about getting a ride that is expensive to maintain and not in the future scheme out of Geauga Lake. We saw this with Stealth at PGA.

Here's a personal idea for KI... what if the park put a full service LaRosa's in IR... the park already serves the pizza, why not the salads, hoagies, spaghetti, lasagna, etc? It's a local favorite that is loved by kids and adults. It would be kind of like macaronies at CP but better.

* Old School - The helix on Beast at night.
* The bunny hops at the end of King Cobra.
* The entire lift experience on MF. From the ride up to the drop
* The spiral down on Dragster.
* Number 1 - the launch into the inversion on Hulk
-
If CP took out corkscrew or moved it elsewhere in the park then they could connect their 2 kids areas and spread out their kiddie flats. Then they could add larger kids rides in that area and next to Maxair. Something like Avatar and Reptar.

Am I the only person here that understands kids tastes these days. Walk down any toy aisle in any store and you will not see the Jetsons or Charlie Brown or Snoopy or any of those classic cartoons. You don't even see much of Bugs Bunny anymore. What you do see is SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer and it has been that way for quite some time now. When the current generation of kids grow up they will consider these cartoons classics. Some may not survive like Fairly Odd Parents or Avatar but SpongeBob, Dora, Blue, and Rugrats have been around for quite some time and I think they will stand the test of time... they already have outlasted many other cartoons. I think Cedar Fair would be making a huge mistake by letting the Nick license expire. Another park system would jump on that opportunity in a heartbeat. In a perfect world, all Cedar Fair parks would have Snoopy and Nickelodeon because the camp snoopy idea seems to appeal to very very young children, ones that are too small to ride most of the rides in Nick Universe.

A sponge bob coaster would have been nice.
That is what they should have called Top Cat's Taxi Jam because it is already kinda those colors.
Dark purple is Sponge Bob colors?

You might also say that KK is suffering from shrinkage...
