I voted leave it up....It never hurts me...I guess my oversized butt is a sort of natural shock-absorber.

Good...lol I hate cigarrette smoke...and it usually really does make me have coughing fits lol...most smokers just think I'm being rude when I walk past them and cough up a lung, so this is one less place for me to get dirty looks...even though I've never been and probably won't go any time soo...ya...but anyway, it's good that people are starting to have the common sense to ban smoking from public places...now they just need to get it out of all the restraunts where i live...gawd it is AWFUL...

If you were Cedar Fair, what would you do...
coaster-chickie replied to Young Gunz's topic in KI Polls
I used to love little bear and franklin when i was little...heck, i still watched them both with my lil' sis when she watched that sorta stuff....which was only about a year or 2 ago... but i don't see anything wrong with kids watching spongebob, sure it's not exactly educational, but I think it's a good think that it appeals to some older kids too, as i'm sure you would rather your preteen/early teenager to watch spongebob then most of the trash on MTV. I'm 13 and i still love spongebob lol...I'd much rather watch that than listen to *BARF* rap....*shudder*. And I think I would know (since I'm that age group) that you're probably not going to get someone of that age to watch an "educational" cartoon. Yeah, SB may not be the best choice for younger kids that will still enjoy Nick Jr. type shows, but once then get older than about first grade, it's going to be hard to find many educational type shows that they won't think are babyish or boring. -
Alaska has a state fair? Ok I guess every state has a state fair....but when I think about alaska I think snow and igloos...not fairs... back on topic... "'My guys -- they're experienced with the equipment," she says. "They touch it every day. They're setting it up and taking it down. ... They can crawl under it and around it because the ride doesn't have any landscaping hiding it.' It's different at major theme parks, where a greater premium is placed on the appearance of rides, and the exterior gloss can sometimes get in the way of purely mechanical considerations, Leavitt said. Hands-on expertise matters too. Her supervisors are real-world mechanics. 'They're Cat engineers. They're truck drivers. They know what they're looking at and what they're listening for. They might not be the most beautiful people you ever looked at, but they know machines.'" Yeah, landscaping can make it harder to inspect a ride, I get that, but this lady here makes it sound like people who do maintenance on stationary rides every day don't know what they're doing...which is far from the truth. I'm sure that people who work on rides, both stationary and moveable, know them like the back of their hand, well actually, you know, I don't like that saying because, c'mon who actually looks at the back of their hands? And people who work on stationary rides are "Real world mechanics" because last time I checked, weren't roller coasters and other rides part of the real world?... Anyway...that part bugged me a lil' bit. And RideAccidents.com? I'm not an expert or anything, but that doesn't seem like the greatest reference. And all those accidents that they listed, they didn't mention whether any of them couldn't be prevented or whether or not they involved a pre-existing condition. This article is sorta...well ok very biased, but it's no worse than the other bajillion biased articles that people have posted since the SoB accident...that is unless people did this before then and I just missed it...but then I haven't been here that long sooo...lol And the funny thing, no matter how many good things people say about rides at carnival and fairs, I probably still won't ride them...hehe...I just don't trust the dudes at the County Fair that only have one tooth...even if all they are doing is pushing a big green button that says go. Now, back to listening to Linkin Park...

Hah...a good coaster to do that on would be IJST....yaaawwwwn! Wait...I forget..do they even have photos on that? lol I haven't ridden it since last year. You could also try it on SoB (Once it *hopefully* opens again...) cause the pic is before the lift hill. Lol I have an SoB pic where I'm laughing my head off bcause my friend screamed bloody murder cause it was her first time and she didn't expect the drop outta the station Wow...I talk alot...I only meant to talk about IJST...:S I should shut up now
-
Wow...I've never had a burze before, but I bet they hurt. However, I know SoB has never given me a bruise. I think it'll be open by next year, maybe not on opening day, but it'll be open next year. I'm just glad I got in one ride on it this year...the day before the accident, too.

I always buy jewelry (I love jewelry and when I'm set loose with 40 bucks, I can't resist ) I always buy dippin dots, I probably drink enough pop to fill an olympic size swimming pool, and last time I went I bought this orange glove thingie with claws that had The Beast 25th anniverary logo on it. I used it just last night to scare the crap outta my little sister in the middle of the night, but that's a different story

Well, gee. Thanks for the sympathy

*GASSSSSPPPPPP*...*cough...cough*...*gets out inhaler*...Now don't you feel bad for making some poor kid have an asthma attack?
-
Mmmm..chain grease I've also noticed that there's this smeel that wooden coasters have that you just can't find on a steel coaster...part of the reason why i love my woodies
-
Well, for starters they can just tear down DOT and IJ:ST

EL TORO
coaster-chickie replied to The New England Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Two words. SIX FLAGS. I would like to get out to SFGAdv to ride El Toro. It looks sooo sweet ...but I generally don't approve of people putting steel track on wood supports and calling it a woodie...I say if you want a smooth ride go ride Millennium Force...but then I also think that roughness is what gives a coaster personality -
Lmao that's funny....

Son of Beast Could Be Closed A Month
coaster-chickie replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
I personally hope that it stays closed for the rest of the season so that they can get it in good enough condition that by next season it won't have to be closed like this again
