Train Ride
I believe they removed all of these before everybody got so P.C. The up keep must have been unreal given those electronics out in the weather.

General Life Expectancy for a classic coaster
So far as I know any coaster will last as long as it's maintained properly. All of the wood coasters at PKI are maintained very well. They are re-tracked when they need to be and wood is replaced all the time on them. I wouldn't worry about your kid's - kid's not being able to ride these great rides. Steel I don't know that much about, I would guess that they work pretty much the same way, so Vortex should also be there.

The fate of Arrow Dynamics
Do you think X is going to be the only 4th dimension ever, or will S & S push foward with the project?

Cost of SOB
What ever came of the lawsuit they filed in the off season after the first year?

PKI Newspaper Done
Great article monkeyman!!! Hope you write many more in the future. I really can't wait until 2004 opening day now!

The beast family
If in-fact they build a woodie taller than SOB it will be along time from now. Think about it, The Beast is still the longest wood and if you build any taller you would surely have to go longer also, just to burn off the energy. Can you imagine how much that would cost in today's market. Also, I don't know of many parks that have the available space to put such a coaster. SOB's record will stand for many years to come, just as dear old pappa's record has.

COUNTDOWN!

New park map
I thought they pretty much redid the map every year.

Newspaper
Please do this!!! Not just for the coaster geeks, but for the information starved in this world. This would be a hands on in physics. Much less, what we need in this world right now is more people like you, look carefully at how our "great" government is trying to take our coaster joy from us. Please include proof that stupidity causes accidents on coasters not the design of the coasters. If you do this show how safe the coasters at PKI are because of their design and how physics makes this happen. This is not just a coaster geek subject, the forces on coasters can be applied on other things in the world.

A question for coaster operators?
Sorry guys when I asked the question I had no idea PKI had the gag order on you guys. Well live and learn, also I feel your pain on getting stuck with no relief. Anyway it's still been very interesting to read your replies.

A question for coaster operators?
This question goes out to all coaster ops. What is your worst nightmare on the job on a daily basis? Also, what's the worst thing that ever happened to you on the job?

The fate of Vortex
. I wasn't aware the new trains were a definite go on SOB. Anyone got any more info on this. I also think Vortex will be here for a long time. But, I have a few problems with it. Maybe Vortexkid2005 can shed some light on this one for me, or anyone else, why does the second car in the train seem to be the roughest ride. Also can anything be done about the bump in the second hill. Thanks.!

2005 Poll
My point was they moved the flyer from a midwest park to a southeast park. The ride they moved from the midwest park was not doing very well, in ridership terms. Why would they build another flyer in another midwest park?!!
-
2005 Poll
As I've stated before, our hopes of a flyer went out the window with the Paramount transplant to Carowinds. I don't see a giga either, it's just not creative enough for PKI. I'm standing with my opinion of the first tilt coaster in the USA.

International Street lights, etc...
I've got to back you fyrfyter!! We should never forget the past, if we do the future would go to..... Well you get my point!

International Street lights, etc...
I really don't feel like we have too much time on our hands. The gas lights are great, they give the park character. That's one of the many reasons I go to PKI, the parks character and the fact they have never lost the general theming in the given areas. If I wanted to go to a Six Flags park, where there was no sense of theme, and really no way to lose my self in the day, that's what I'd do. But I don't, I love PKI and I really think it's a shame that my kids will never get to see the park in the state that made me fall in love with it. It's alot cheaper to just throw things away than it is to repair them. I just hope they don't throw too much away and eventually turn the park into a giant blob of rides like Six Flags parks have done.

What would you like to see PKI do?
I would love to see PKI add a hyper in 2005, but I just feel like that's a pipe dream. We all know PKI has tried to be unique with their ride offerings, God bless them for it! I don't think it will by a flyer either, we missed our shot at that with the Flying Dutchman transplant to Carowinds. So, I'm going out on a limb and guessing a Tilt Coaster in 2005. That's my quess!

Tunnels or Not?
I think a tunnel at the base of the first drop would be great, just for the tie in to The Beast name, even if it doesn't go underground. The hole in the ground look would still be there, it's 218 feet, how big could a twelve foot tall tunnel look. One in the first helix would be great too, it's the one that goes the same direction as dad's, once again nostalgia has to rule. Please don't darn me, I know they are different rides, but the name is still there. But a tunnel anywhere near the loop would be appalling, the whole point of that drop is the feeling you get when you look up and see that magnificent loop for the first time. Think how you felt the first time you realized you were about to go upside down on a wooden roller coaster for the first time. Forget the rest of the ride. Yes it has rough spots, but that LOOP, isn't that amaizing enough. Yes a few tunnels would make it more like it's namesake, but why do we all criticise this incredible ride. No work of art is perfect, look at the Mona Lisa's nose. All works of art have flaws but they are still priceless, Sonny is just the same and we should all start to thank PKI for giving us this incredible machine instead of picking it apart and deciding how we could make it better.

What do you miss most from PKI's past?
I miss the King Cobra, how can you not miss rushing off that last ride on The Beast to catch that ride on the Cobra just before the park closed. I also miss The Bat, and the Bavarian Beetle.

Magnetic trims on The Beast, one more question?
I understand the trim on the first drop is there to protect the track on the left turn at the bottom. But what I don't understand is the trim on the second hill, at the top before you drop and come up into the old trim station before the big tunnel. Why is that trim there? What is it's purpose? Just wondered if anyone knew.

The Beast reprofiled?
Thank you, I wish I could have been there the year it opened, much less been big enough to ride. I bet it was really a wild ride with the helix banked less then today.

What if, 2004?
How would we all feel if PKI suprised us all with an "X" style coster?
