  1. I collect memoribilia from Kings Island since the day it opened, and to look at the old post cards, people would be amazed at how much detail was put into all the landscaping and theming. The whole concept of International Street was to bring a little old world flare to compliment the Eiffel Tower, I think this flare fell through with paramount in the fact that you could walk into any of those shops down that street and everyone of them had the same items as the one before, it never was like that in the early years of the park, even the uniforms were staged to match the theming of the street. I would very much like to see some of the old theming to come back to the park, it made you feel like you were more immersed in a fantasy world, now everywhere you look you just see buildings with paramount slapped across them. The only thing left of Oktoberfest is the festhaus and the viking fury. Over in Rivertown, The Beast was landscaped to fit into this theming but then flop in Tombraider which has nothing to do with that theming. I much preferred the theming of the wild animal habitat over the Action Zone, the Cobra and the Demon accented the area perfectly. I wish everyone could see pictures of the old Coney Island and how much detail they took pride in with the atmosphere, you would see that it is nothing like what the original concept of what Coney Mall was supposed to be. Final Quote: If your going to use themed areas, stick to a plan and do it right, don't throw an oddball into the middle of the theme, it ruins the effect.
  2. As working in a company, which decides between the 2 major soft drink companies when our contract runs out, Coke offers alot more incentives and is cheaper product to purchase which allows you more profit to make.
  3. I totally agree about the Son of Beast being the best addition but was done with the wrong company, I personally found Tombraider to be my other most favorite addition, finally mixing a ride with all the special effects, felt like a movie ride park was on the horizon, but after it's first year , so many of the flips had to be taken out to help it and the computer synchronize, it just isn't as fun any more, but the Tombraider at the dominion is awesome for all of its flips. Wouldn't it had been great to have seen a Volcano or Hypersonic ride go up at KI
  4. I too agree that I am just glad to see something coming to KI that can be listed as a thrill ride, I don't care if it has been used, the major thing I am excited to see is that they are using land that hasn't been developed yet instead of taking out a ride from the past. That is what makes me so mad, every year in the past I would always go to public relations and ask, "Ok guys what ride are you going to take out next year so I can get my fill of it this year." Mix the nostalgic with the new, that makes for a great experience, and honestly you can't expect them to go to elaborate this year, and take away from the powerhouse rollercoaster opening at the point.
  5. Can someone tell me what prompted Cedar Fair to take the X-Flight out at GL and bring it to KI
  6. Speaking on the colors for the new coaster, something dark that would keep the ride dark and mysterious when the sun goes down would be great, especially being over near the wooded area, just as long as they don't use those hideous colors that was used on the Iron Dragon.
