The $1 million is basically for a fessabillity study. They have been talking about this for a couple of years now, but there isn't much support for it. In an article about 2yrs. ago, they said the project would cost about $180-225 million. They couldn't find the investors at the time.

They will build another campground with lots of themeing but probably not as big.

I stayed there many times with my family. I won't be able to afford to stay at the new lodge. I'm sure that PKI will relocate the campgrounds. All major parks have them. Also, the survey from a few months ago gave a little insight as to what they might do in the themeing of a new campgrounds. Will not having a campground for a year or two keep my family from going to PKI. No. We have too much fun there.

It is nice to see thar pki is trying to stay on top of the kids area. However, they need to remember that it is dad and mom spending thier hard earned money along with young adults. And the young adults have a lot more money to spend than most families do. I'm sure they along with the parents want to see something more thrilling go in also. When my wife and I went alone last year, we didn't go near HB or NC. We stayed in AZ, CM, and Captain Dans deck. And yes we spent more money that day alone than we do when we have our kids with us.

My 9 year old wants to see something with Danny Phantom and a Sponge Bob coaster. My 5 year old wants to see something with Sponge Bob and Little Bill. My 9 yr.old would rather see a faster coaster with lots of loops and corkscrews than something in the Nick area. He's a coaster junkie.

Just finished a survey I received this morning from PKI. It was all about Nick and Nick jr.. It said if you had kids under 12 to have them help you with the survey. My young ones took it. Did anyone else get the survey?

I agree that only small percentage of the people at the park on any given day may be small. But overall the number of people that use the campgrounds over the year is higher. Especially families that have season passes and don't live in the immediate vacinity. I know my family used it quite often for weekend stays.

Has anyone heard anything more about what is happening with the campground area? Has there been any movement on the hotel, or are they going to upgrade the campground in "06.
