  1. I was also there yesterday and didn't really even have to wait. There wasn't the long of a line. Also I don't think there were any malfunctions, at least to my knowledge.
  2. I'm not completely understanding why it is even being inspected because they are not even remotely similar. But whatever as long as it does not get destroyed, which will probably never happen. My sympathies also go out to the girl and her family. I hope everything works out ok.
  3. DARN IT! I wanted to start this thread. I was also there yesterday (6/21/07) and was waiting for my flight on Xtreme Skyflier and noticed the all to familiar sound of the SOB lift....I turned around and saw the gorgeous sight of a red train climbing the hill loaded with dummys! I also walked part of the way down the Top Gun exit and saw a bunch of people dressed up all fancy in ties and such. I'm assuming they were KI bigwigs. They tested the ride many times just whil I was waiting for XS and they continued to test the rest of the day, at least until 6 which was when I left. I'm so glad to see some form of life on the ride and am pumped to ride it again when I go back later this summer!
  4. ^...wow......WHY?!.......reaaallly cheesy
  5. Austin, having the steel loop required certain trains, trains that were too heavy for the supports putting way too much stress on them and eventually breaking them ending up in closure. The removal of the loop allowed for much lighter trains that did not have to be mad especially for that one element.
  6. That's what I thought. Maybe that's why they have turned off the sound on IJ:ST, if that's the case, I'll be there thursday so we'll see what's working and what's not.
  7. I'm going thursday and I love that ride so I hope they get everything going again.
  8. That kinda reminds me of a cat...the track being the ears.

  10. I just hope that those trains are going to be able to hold up to the forces of SOB. I don't know how many of you have seen Hurricane but...well...it was pretty puny. I never got the chance to ride but from the road...it was relatively small. I really just hope they can withstand those types of force.
  11. In my opinion, Face/Off is one of the scarrier rides. It's just the lift when you're facing the ground. It goes up so slow and you just sit an hope that you're restraint doesn't fly up and you fall that hundred some feet to the ground. However, I disagree with Drop Zone. That's one of my favorites and I actually wasn't even scared the first time I rode it. I actually had to force my dad on it, who was pumped to ride....until we were about 1 or 2 groups back Where you can kinda start to really see the height and feel the wind. I try to ride Drop Zone at least twice a trip and that's two times a year. As for Firehawk, the only parts of the ride that really freak me out are the initial roll, and the loop. It's kinda freaky when you go from staring at the sky to suddenly staring at the ground hundreds of feet in the air. The loop just scares me because when you go ino the loop if you're in the back or front It's kinda wierd looking at the opposite end of the train. Plus it's not exactly that easy to tell where you are in the loop because you can only see the opposite side of the track.
  12. Let's pray.... Cedar Fair has always been a fan of the first rule of business, "Reinvest, reinvest, reinvest!!" But as a KI-goer, I must admit that I do worry that they'll make it a point to give KI second rate attractions to Cedar Point in order to make sure that CP remains the more powerful park. Is this a good business decision? No. But it's still unsettling to consider. I thought this same thing. I'm starting to get seriously concerned as to what will be done. Although if Kinzel loves King's Island as much as it is said he does then we probably have nothing to worry about but until I see any action I will still be concerned as for the future of rides at King's Island. I hope it doesn't become neglected in terms of ride quality.
  13. It's at PortAventura in Spain and yes, it is an intamin.
  14. I rode Dominator last year at GL and I loved it. I personally think it would be a great addition to King's Island. I know they have room somewhere amongst those trees, they can make room. I know I could stand to breathe a little less air if it meant moving Dominator closer.
  15. Don't forget the swampy mess too!
