  1. You bring up a good point with the river flooding. This happens frequently to this river at this location. I don't think KI wants to put up with the same headaches that Coney puts up with. That's a great idea, however, anyone who lives in this area (and I've been here for 20 years) will know that the average depth of that river is all of 2 feet, and furthermore the largest ship that can navigate those sacred waters is a 6 foot canoe... Just don't overload it with 3 people or you risk getting stuck. BTW- It only floods in the early spring as the snow melts and rains are plentiful... During KI season it's pretty shallow. Now if CF was willing to dredge that river to a depth of about 20 feet all the way down to the Ohio River we may be on to something... Dicky K- put a plan into action!! Ed.

So in a nutshell, while being a great ride, it was also a piece of $hit. Ed.

What's 8/4/7? Did I miss something? On 8/4/7, the day KIC visits KI, we will get to tour FoF's bowl, which is where the KC trains have been stored in the past. If they are not there, then it could mean that they have scrapped the ride. I rode FoF with the lights on a few weeks ago and did not see any remnants of KC in there. I did, however, remember seeing lots of miscellaneous crap in there - things such as shovels, wheelbarrows, and other stuff. I figured that was a good storage spot for "stuff". I do remember many years ago (4 or 5) seeing the trains for KC sitting in there, but they're gone now. Also, how does one get a tour of behind-the-scenes type places? I would be interested. Ed.

  5. Congo Falls is actually a water retention basin which had to be created because there is a natural spring in that area. Many years ago (before Kings Island) there was actually a spring house in which people could drive up and purchase fresh water. If you remember prior to Amazon [Congo] Falls being installed, there was still a natural "lake" under the Screamin Demon which was part of the same water system (just a little more tame now). Ed.
  6. They did, however, reverse one side to make the backwards Racer in the early 80's. ed.
  7. Please tell me your daughter is doing better now? Ed.
  8. I actually rode FoF a few weeks ago with the house lights on. It was near the end of the night and we were the last riders prior to the park closing. I asked one of the ops if we could turn the lights on... he said no problem and flipped them on. The light switches for the house lights inside are just to the right side of the front of the train where a ride op stands upon launch. As a side note, someone above said that there are no block brakes mid-way through the ride. That is incorrect. You can even see them in the pictures posted above - it is the straight area towards the top of the ride. It never really stops the trains, but can. Similar to the block brakes mid-way through The Vortex - they rarely bring the trains to a complete stop, but certainly can for safety purposes. Ed.
