  1. Glad you had fun. Speaking for myself, I have never had any problems at CP with my KI Platinum pass.
  2. Was at the park Thursday late afternoon/early evening. Even though the park appeared to be crowded, the line waits weren't that long-Beast was a 40 minute wait, DB 30 minutes and WS just about 20 minutes. I get the impression that a lot of the people were at the concerts rather than at the rides.
  3. The other ride at Coney that gave people the chance for " companionship" was The Lost River. ( Or so I heard-I was just a kid then.)
  4. I was at the grand opening weekend on Sunday, May 27, 1972 with my dad. I was 11 years old.
  5. The first row of a car is ok too since it is a front wheel seat-the third row is what you have to worry about since it is a back wheel seat where your back takes a beating. ( Didn't Ruth Voss used to ride The Beast for its chiropractic therapy? If so maybe row 3 was her fav.)
  6. Where Jan left Mike's blue prints and practically ruined the whole family's trip to KI and almost cost Mike his job-thanks a lot Jan.(LOL)
  7. I remember that well. And most of the time, you could get as many Gold Pass speed tickets as you wanted depending upon availablity. ( I remember only one season when they limited you to one set.) And these were handed out on Saturdays-oh, how long lines of people would be green with envy-lol.)
  8. I was at the water park yesterday until 2:45pm and of course it was crowded there because of the heat. I joined some friends at the main part of the park at about 3Pm and we rode WindSeeker first-the wait was about 20 minutes and the line didn't even snake onto the midway. Diamondback only had about 4 rows of queues open and The Beast only had about 2 rows of queues. Sorry but I have to disagree with you-I wouldn't consider it to be a packed day when such major rides don't have long waits.
  9. Was at park last night and today and was a lot less crowded than the normal weekend. It again proves my point that holidays tend to be less crowded than people think.
  10. Speaking just for myself, I have never had any problems with agressive photo takers. Sure they attempt to take a photo but simply walking briskly by while giving a polite "no thank you" works fine for me. From a business stand point, I agree that it would be more prudent to place the photo takers by such areas as the Eiffel Tower and Planet Snoopy as you are more likely to find willing customers at those locations than at the front of the park at opening time when you have a bunch of coaster enthusiasts rushing to their fav rides.
  11. I loved it-Windshawne was right behind Raptorguy and myself. The most thrilling part of the ride was the heavy winds at the top-I can hardly wait to ride CP's version with the added factor of Lake Erie's winds. We rode it as it was getting dark and its especially breathtaking with the beautiful lights. Loved the music-they were playing the Star Trek theme when we rode. All and all, too very strong thumbs up from me.
  12. Sorry, just noticed your quote " or their required break is coming up."
  13. I think it is against the law for an employer to withhold your breaks for any reason if you are legally entitled to them.
  14. Saw WS testing Thursday night and was absolutely blown away by the ride, the lighting and the great music. Let's just hope people don't complain about the music being too loud. ( LOL.)
  15. In response to those who think Cedar Fair is showing favoritism to CP over KI, I remind you that we should be thankful to CF that we are getting a new ride at all at KI. And I also remind you that there has not been a new coaster at CP since Maverick opened in 2007. Between then and 2011, we have seen Firehawk and DB at KI as well as I-305, Bohemeth, Dominator, and Intimidator at the other parks acquired in 2006. Not to mention the wonderful live shows and makeover at KI, including the new pavement on the midways. Isn't it just awful how CF has treated KI?
  16. I find that if I bend my knees a little when I ride Mantis it decreases the pressure on my knees.
  17. I don't think I have ever encountered multi-hour waits for Raptor even on packed days. Raptor is a very high capacity ride and I have timed my wait with a full queue at 1 1/4 hours. I have said this before and I will say this again: The only way to be sure of what the real wait is for a line is to actually wait in the line.
  18. And yet.... The company that opened Kings Island, Taft Broadcasting, did in fact buy Coney Island of Ohio prior to building KI, and Coney DID in fact have a lot more rides than it does now. At least one of us here was LIVID at that company for demolishing Shooting Star... I really don't see the guest's comment as all that inaccurate. Don't get me started Terpie about the demolishment of Shooting Star.
  19. Rollin' rollin' rollin', keep them doggies rollin'... My personal fav: Mule Train, clippity clop, clippity clop, clippity clop ( yee haw!)
  20. For me Wildcat fills a void left my the removal of Bavarian Beetle at KI.
  21. As I was leaving the park today at around 7:45 my friend Derek and I saw an Invertigo Rollback. As the train was going through the vertical loop on the way back to the station, it rolled back halfway through the loop and came to a stop. Has anyone ever seen this happen before? It seems like since TDD opened, rollbacks are the name of the game.
  22. I hope to win another cool button at Way Too Much TV. ( Don't know what I did with the button I won last year.)
