  1. The control panel is not in the video. It's really well hidden. The Door that is open at 2:03 leading outside. If you were to walk to that door, right when you're between the monkey arches on your right and the wall on your left, the panel would be built into a recessed spot on that wall with the arches. You would not be able to see it unless you walk up to that exit door. It even had a camouflaged painted door to hide it even more. If you could stick your hand into the wall behind that white bird cage thing and turn it left out the side of that wall, you'd literally be sticking your hand through the backside of the panel.
  2. You're describing the same room with both of those. It went "Caves/cavern entrance. (this is the narrow part with th elavated walkway)-- > Antechamber/monkey room (This was where you first were divided into 3 rows. The controls for the horizontal sliding door were on the right by the emergency exit door.) ----> Preshow (This is where the giant statue was and where the movie played had a vertical door between it and the ride room) ---> Ride Room/Show Room (This is where the ride was and where the haunt attraction is now). The Antechamber door is still installed as well, but it's been fixed back into the wall. When you walk from the antechamber into the pre show during Haunt, you can see it there. Pre-shows controls were by the emergency exit in the pre-show room. Then the ride room exit would be across from where the stairs are to go into the Haunt. The drivebox is in a room attached to the exterior of the building which you can see from The Beast/Slaughterhouse. It's the big set of stairs going to what looks like a metal extension on the building. Then the two other ride operator positions were right off the ride in the exit, and the other was just to the right of the big opening when you go to where the stairs down to Haunt are now. Those stairs used to go into a maintenance area and then a gate to go into lock out under the ride.
  3. Would anyone be interested in a YouTube Doc about the history of the Land Rover Defender that was displayed infront of the ride? I keep debating making one, but it would be a lot of work because I'd want it to be professional.
  4. ^ This is correct they had cast bowls with flames in them.
  5. I believe razorwire is even illegal a lot of places. Unless it's a government use etc.
  6. Even then stuff will get missed unless they literally are patting people down or making people turn their pockets out. Even zipper bags don't work. TR:TR had them and it was still the ride with the most loose articles even though it had the most aggressive free securing option and had employees taking large items and probably the most aggressive loose article spiels in amusement history. Seperator mentioned putting mine in my pocket and I didn't get stopped by the people in the restraints and on platform. So I just chalked it up to her trying to be friendly and help me not lose them vs. an actual policy. My glasses will get broken in my pocket and likely have a better chance at slipping out than just on my face. I can at least attest to how well they stay on my face and I didn't even like riding TTD with them on a strap because I still felt like they could come off or Raptor/Rougarou because of the headbanging.
  7. Many of the ride operators have likely not even been to a family funeral yet. It's going to be a lot of trauma for them to process. Even ones not working Banshee at the time. It's something that will be with them through life. On other comments I doubt anyone else was injured. If they were it would have been mentioned over scanner traffic and it would be known with or without a park statement.
  8. This is the way. They're experts on the subject.
  9. Dude this reports like Six Flags gonna be going through chapter 11 and liquidating real estate if CF does not merge. Also yeah that company owns 3% of SF stock. They also in a 12/2022 article talk about wanting the chain to sell off land and believe the land is worth more than the company.
  10. I bet Cedar Fair had better health insurance for the therapy though.
  11. I had this though too make it go away. I don't think they'd be dumb enough to brand everything Six Flags, if anything they need to remove the name from most of the parks except where it could be seen as a postiive like in Texas.
  12. FUN isn't near the size of SIX though. The company culture is extremley different and SIX has shown again and again to bend to cheapening out while Cedar Fair has leaned into a more low and slow routine. The main issue I have is Six Flags has a horrible public image. As others have even commented already in this thread, non-amusement park people usually have nothing positive to say about Six Flags. Ask your friends from St Louis and Rochester etc if they like Theme parks and the opinions they'll have are often horrible, because SF has damaged the image of the entire industry across the nation. If the board was 7v5 I'd be more optimistic, but being equal between sides and with SIX having so much more outside industry influence through the years it brings, I'm just concerned the current direction of CF will be hard to maintain over "just cut everything to maximize bonuses and the 10k. Also that from the statement the Cedar Fair name will be dissolved and the company will take on Six Flags. That just seems entirely tone deaf to public knowledge. But at the market level, hardly anyone knows who Cedar Fair is but everyone on wallstreet has heard of six flags and not in a positive way. Why cut a regional deal with Skyline when we have the power to now just throw in a national chain? Why not bring Nathans to every park in America. The strength of a company Six Flags sizes is a lot of rope to hang themselves. I worry Six Flags negatives are far greater than the good Cedar Fair has. Even getting Cedar Fair on track post Kinzel took a good effort. It took a Disney man that understands the industry, trust and investment to get there.
  13. The company is going to be too big for the voice in the room that wants to run a theme park like a theme park. The boat is too big to be steered in the right direction now. Comparing FUN to SIX stock and shareholders is even very different.
  14. This press release should have jsut been. "WE'D LIKE TO WELCOME BACK JEFFREY SEIBERT TO THE TEAM!" then a small blib about the merger.
  15. boy capitalism sure is great... I really wish them the best, but I just don't think Cedar Fair can steer a ship this large. It's 100% a shareholder game now and that means the consumer loses.
  16. I'm assuming you don't get to keep the glass? lol
  17. I believe Sycamore Gym Mine is supposed to be the first tunnel of AE. I know The Beast in a very close manner and have never heard of any sort of Sycamore anything with it being referred that way. Unless that is something that just started, but I think the signs basically tell you the location and that you go through it on AE. That map in the queue is AEs layout as wel.
  18. I'm assuming Kings Island still frowns on snapping? I was part of that core 03-04 group Ryan mentioned in this thread back in 2014 and I just assumed snapping was a thing of the past on these rides these days so I haven't even bothered to ride them at KI, CP, or KK. The Flying Eagles were such a fun ride and it really brought the local Kings Island fans and employees closer together than anything since.
  19. I'd have to agree with Brad too. I really really really want to love Orion but I just like it and honestly I think I might even like Diamondback better. The intensity is great, I love the design but it just feels so short. I just feel like it's 30 seconds short. I'm not sure how they measure them or if it's the lift hill/brake run timing on rcdb but Orion really would need 2-4 more elements to really be better than MF for me. I'm happy we have it, don't get me wrong it just falls short and with the line it can get for being the tallest in the park, that hampers my enjoyment of it even more.
  20. I think 138 is the rides area manager radio call sign for that area (but it's been awhile for me) then 4/23 is likely the date of retheme and opening of Adventure Port. Or it reads "Adventure Port 2023".
  21. Rode Adventure Express after avoiding spoilers and I can say it's getting better than the earlier reviews here. I honestly loved it and I can say the experience is different depending on where you sit. There are so many Easter Eggs, I rode three times and still can't point them all out. I'll just point out some of the bigger changes and not all the new theming or little build ups along the ride which there are a lot of, such as the iguanas leaving the station or thins already mentioned like the broken train with the monkeys. They added an actual switch track at the beginning so people don't have to understand everything going in to know they are on the wrong track. This includes a section of dummy track to the right. Tunnel 1 is the Gem Stone Cave, it replaces the snake tunnel. There used to be a Cobra that stuck out of a barrel at the end of this tunnel that I loved, and luckily it reappears predominantly later in the ride. This tunnel does need to be lit better, I can tell they rethemed a lot of it and it features mining equipment but it's still really dark. Tunnel 2 is the pre lift tunnel with the spears, largely unchanged but it has a great lighting package. The spears or at least more than i've ever seen work were working. When I rode in the front I didn't see a single one move, but in the back I saw more move than ever before. Tunnel 3 used to be pretty empty except for a couple of colored lights, this is now Cobra Caverns and my friend from tunnel 1 is now predominantly featured right on top of the entrance. They've added new speakers and you can hear rattle snakes all around you as well as Cobras spitting and hissing, including some that sound VERY close to you as you go by. It was too dark to really see anything, but I'm sure with the lighting in the other tunnels it will be a thing soon riding in the front row the snake near mis audio queues couldn't really be heard, but they were great in the back. Tunnel 4 finale tunnel is fully refreshed. All of the statues had lights functioning on them with a new multicolor lighting package. All of the statues except one were working and working with full reach and force. The audio sounded clearer then ever so I'm assuming it got new audio hardware as well. The end statue was also fully lit and working when it pours it's bowl. Even the mouth was moving with the right que. This is also the tunnel with the Tomb Raider antechamber monkeys at the entrance now as well as some other statues and things that I'll need many re-rides to really see. There also seems to be an audio queue that explains the train being lost and someone talking to you through the radio as they try to get you back on the right track. Overall I loved it, and I hope they continue to improve it. I hate that it appears it wasn't all ready in time, but it is what it is. My only complaint was the lighting in the gem stone mine and cobra caverns. The back of the train is also the best seat to enjoy the theming.
  22. Still boarding for Outpost 5 in the old soundtrack hah. I don't think I ever made the connection that Adventure Express is where that likely started, if not something else even before that in Adventure Village.
  23. Something that has bugged me for decades about scooby and interactive shooters is that they aren't 100% ada friendly. If you're not able to hit the targets for some reason you literally miss out on a majority of the fun effects of the ride. I think this is better with the Disney ones that have the guns hard mounted (plus they break less from not being banged around) but it's still a matter of being able to hit the targets. But a lot of the big effects are even triggered in boo blasters instead of inconsequential things. If you don't have any hands or even the ability to hold your hand/arm steady, you literally can't experience Boo Blasters in it's intended way. I'd also argue the guns take away from story element, but I also recognize that kids love shooting the targets. I just don't feel they should be anything other than just a mini-side part of the ride and it's effects.
