  1. I was just wondering what people thought about the new coaster BEHEMOTH at Canada's Wonderland. videos statistics track layout May of 2008 Track Length: Approximately 5,318 ft 1620.9 m Lift Height: Approximately 230 ft 70 m Angle of Descent: Approximately 75 degrees Ride Time: Approximately 3 minutes, 10 seconds Speed of First Drop: Approximately 77 miles/hour 125km/hour Ride Capacity: Approximately 1,545 guests/hour Three 32-passenger trains Eight cars, with four seats per car, per train Prototype seating Fiberglass and steel coaches with lapbar restraints and interlocking seat belts Bolliger and Mabillard (B&M) Monthey, Switzerland Approximately $26 million
  2. It's ok to want to remember what attractions have always been called, but face it, if you are working at the park this year, and a first time guest walks up and asks you How do I get to Flight Deck?, Invertigo?, or Whatever...it will probably become 2nd nature to simply start calling them by their new names. After all, to a person at a park where everything is new to them, it's whats going to be listed online and on the park maps. It is going to be all that they know. To avoid guest confusion, learning the attractions new names should be a top priority, especially for complacent returning associates. Not that there are any of us like that in here......
  3. I just have a question for anyone who may have the information. This year at Kings Island, can we expect to be parking in for example, FLIGHT DECK, rows 1-8 in the main parking lot. Or Backlot Stunt Coaster rows 1-8, Invertigo rows 1-8, etc.?
  4. I wonder what else might be changed in the future. Speculation would include "Congo" Falls, Paramount FX Theatre, Wings Diner, and Delirium. But I also wonder if they would be willing to change the names of other rides in the park. This would no doubt affect the names of the "Rows of Parking" in the main parking lot to Kings Island. ( BUT I DO NOT HAVE THIS INFORMATION CONFIRMED! ) I still wonder if Cedar Fair has intentions to keep the Nickelodeon theming as a permanent keeper. I personally feel that it would be a foolish alteration to get rid of the popular theming, but the statement of more changes to come makes me wonder. However, I would like to see the name of "Fairly Odd Coaster" changed. If not back to The Beastie ( which it will forever be to me ) than to something that is at least better than it's current name. And to agree with previous quotes, I also like the change of Paramount Theatre to Kings Island Theatre.

    Racer

Changing the direction of the ride is not as bad of an idea as removing it. ( which I don't think was ever an issue, just a comparison by thought ) But it would be a very sad decision for me personally. I remember when I was a kid, my sister who was working at the park in 1991 finally talked me into breaking my fears and riding all of the roller coasters with her one day. And the 1st big coaster that she took me on was The Racer going backwards. If they change this ride, at least it will always be there to look at and remember what it was like to ride it backwards. They can alter The Racer, and take it into the future in a new direction, again for the 1st time, but they can never take away your memories of it, when it was different. ( if it becomes different ) I'm writing in awkward tongues now, so I'm just gonna leave it at that.
  6. Well last year, we got Firehawk. I'm sure they had the same feelings. I know how you feel but realistically, you can't get it all every year. It seems like Cedar Fair is trying to evenly distribute new and refurbished attractions to each of their parks. To be honest, I think that it could be a fair prediction, in the end, to see Kings Dominion become a park of higher concentration than even Kings Island. I have nothing to back this up. It is just an assumption based on nothing more than mere speculation. But it would not shock me.
  7. This is a good thing. But what would the prices be. Based on amusement parks prices for junk food, I can't even imagine healthy food. Take Busch Gardens for example. Instead of pizza, or fries, I would always get Salmon, and Greens with a drink. This could easily be around 25.00 for just One meal.
