TomTom gets me where I need to go. Bought it 5 years ago and gave $130 new for it- lifetime map updates and traffic included. It's paid for itself several times over.

Root Beer Stand in Sharonville Jungle Jim's either in Eastgate or Fairfield If you're over near Putz's, may want to hit up J&J Restaurant on Glenway Avenue. Always a stop when I'm on that side of town.
-
I know there are a couple of different ways to get there. My aunt lives over off of Blue Rock. Traffic, depending on what route you take, could be a nightmare. I-71 near Kenwood is a good example of this. Not sure if they're still working on I-75 around that area. It's been quite some time since I've been over that direction.
-
From the park, take I-71 south to Exit 7, Norwood Lateral. Head west until the Lateral ends and then south on I-75 towards Downtown. Once on I-75 take Exit 4, I-74 West. Take I-74 to Exit 17, Montana Avenue. Keep going straight through the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. Putz's is on the left.

You do not receive an email when you register. A thank you notification appears on your screen upon submitting your registration. An email will go out 5-7 days before the event. Thanks for clarifying Don. I know that I've gotten some emails from you in the past with events I've signed up for. Wasn't able to participate in Coasterstock last year so I wasn't sure how it was being done.

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
Hoeter replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
You're welcome. There's something I want to add. If Kings Island is getting a giga next year, I wouldn't expect track/supports to be visible or ready for shipment for a few more months. This picture was taken in August of 2011 when I lived in Mt. Orab. These are a couple of the many supports for Leviathan, the first of the B&M gigas for Cedar Fair. -

Perhaps I can yonder out that direction here in a bit and see if any new track is laying about. The last track I saw out there about 3 weeks ago was the track going to Asia for their new coaster. -

Interesting. My grandparents owned a house over off of Twin Bridges Rd. in nearby Williamsburg. The State of Ohio bought their house (and many others around it), flooded the area, and the area as we know it is East Fork Lake today. From what I was told, very few (if any) of those houses were demolished Sorry to get off topic for a minute, but I wanted to add this to the conversation. -

It is but there's an entrance a few miles to the east. -

Falling trees... http://www.agri.ohio.gov/topnews/asianbeetle/ Affects Bethel as I mentioned earlier on but also affects East Fork State Park, which is a couple miles east of CSF. -

Earful Tower at DHS has come down

Definitely sad to see this go. The Sorcerer's Hat and Mickey's wand on Spaceship Earth generated a much different feeling... -

I'e thought about it. Is that something you guys want? I have my own personal one, so I imagine you can't be logged into two, right? Looks like you'd have to log out of your personal one and into the KIC one should you create it. Did a Google search and didn't come up with anything where the official app supports it. Looks like there may be third party solutions to this, though. -
I'm surprised the FAA allowed Kentucky Kingdom to do it. I remember last year Cedar Point filed for Valravn and got denied. Eventually it was approved, I believe, after appealing it. Of course I don't know how far away Cedar Point is from an airport.
-
Isn't the airport on the other side of I-264 opposite Kentucky Exposition Center and Kentucky Kingdom? Used to go down to the Mid-America Trucking Show the last weekend of March at KFEC every year with some buddies. Been several years since. Last time was when Chang (now Green Lantern at NJFTP) was still standing. That's how long it's been since I've been to Louisville.

I recommend front row on El Toro. I have never had such insane ejector airtime in my life. The NoChickens thought I was going to fly out of my seat!

Park doesn't look busy at all. Diamondback looks to be a 10 or 15 minute wait per the webcam (http://pixelcaster.com/live/kingsisland/Diamondback.html) Banshee looks to possibly be down right now (http://pixelcaster.com/live/kingsisland/Banshee.html)

Whatever it is, I'm sure people will complain that Kings Island didn't get something else. I heard numerous people complaining at Banshee's announcement that we weren't getting a wing coaster or a giga coaster instead. Be thankful they are investing tens of millions of dollars in new attractions into the park. If you want to ride a wing coaster or a giga coaster that bad before Kings Island gets one, Sandusky is only 200 miles north. -
Don has worn many hats at the park in previous seasons. A couple of seasons back, I believe he worked at The Beast and The Racer for a day or two.
-
Someone mentioned the structure at the new entrance previously, I believe but I forgot all about it until I got to the park last night. All signage has been taken off and there are cans of paint and scaffolding behind the structure. Personally, I think it looks fine the way it is!

Thank you for sharing tjpavlik! Six Flags Great Adventure is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to. I was there two years ago, didn't ride Kingda Ka, Superman, or Batman but enjoyed all of the other coasters- especially El Toro and Nitro. I need to get back there at some point. The trip I went on in 2014 consisted of this park, Dorney Park, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, and the other Six Flags park in Maryland that needs no introduction. My Six Flags membership saved me a TON of money that weekend. If you plan on hitting up multiple SIX parks in a season I recommend the Combo Gold Pass...https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/store/season-passes
