Any idea on what department of the park you would have to call to get the information about purchasing something they have in storage?
-
Thanks for the pic. I wonder how difficult it is to buy stuff like this from the park?

Cool! I think I probably rode that ride one or two times since I was a much bigger fan of the Enchanted Voyage. That's an awesome display piece but it's too bad they didn't have the car with Fred and Barney from your picture. It would be interesting to know how many display pieces like this from the Happy Land of Hanna Barbera still exist. Seems like I read somewhere that the park benches from that section of the park are still on the grounds in storage.

I was actually thinking it might be from that ride but couldn't remember if the scenery was generic or themed around the Hanna Barbera characters. Thanks for the info.

I remember the ride when it was Flintstones themed but can't recall seeing this display piece anywhere around it.

I don't remember seeing any type of Flintstones display like this in the park and I've been going there since 1973: Display Piece

Yes, as far as I know, that's the Enchanted Voyage building. Yes, it's the same building.

Great photos, thanks for sharing! Too bad there wasn't any pictures taken in the Happy Land of Hanna Barbera section.

Confirmed Snoopy Coming to Kings Island...
The Retro Kid replied to RailRider's topic in Kings Island
It's too bad they couldn't get the license back for the classic Hanna Barbera characters and revamp that area to look similar to what it did back when the park opened in 1972. With Boomerang showing a lot of the classic Hanna Barbera cartoons I think kids get a lot of exposure to the classic characters, including Scooby Doo. They may not be as popular as Sponge Bob with a lot of kids today but considering the wide range of characters there would be a lot of opportunities for rides and merchandise. I'm sure the Peanuts theme will do well but I just think it's pretty limited as to what you can do with it. -
If someone was interested in purchasing one of the old HB benches who would you call?

I recently noticed they're showing a modern day version of the Banana Splits on Boomerang. It would be great to see these characters back in the park as well.

This website has several Kings Island flashback photos.

I was also five years old when I rode it for the first time and was completely mesmerized with it after that. Hopefully one day the park will put in a themed attraction that will measure up to it.

I'm looking for either an original or a high res scan of a vintage Kings Island postcard that shows the front of the Enchanted Voyage. Here's a pic of it:
