Please... if you have something you can't speak of for whatever reasons don't tease us by just saying you know things about it and telling us something all the previous posters said. Excuse me? All I did was verify what was true and confirmed what was rumor. I never repeated or said anything that was said before. I did what someone asked for: The following posts have some truth but again, there are further details. But I don't want to be accused again of "teasing" anyone.

I can tell you what happened but I won't as it isn't my place to do so. But I will confirm the kid did get killed for being stupid. Past that everything else reported before this post is an untrue rumor. And thats all I've got to say about the subject.

Superb pictures! There was alot of pride taken in the park back then. And it readily shows thru those excellent photos. Very kind to post them for us so we can see what has been lost forever. I love KI but honestly it is just another amusement park that is hard to differentiate from the other amusement parks today. Very sad indeed. I mean the ONLY reason for KI's success was the uniqueness of the park, the same reason for Disneys success. Now it is living only because of its name while Disney is still unique. On to responding to another post in this thread. I thought the animal safari was closed because of the cost and the fact a man was killed, and had nothing to do with "poor living conditions" as those animals were cared for at least as well as the animals at the Cinti Zoo. Top Gun is not close to being as nice as it once was. Again I am sure the reason has to do with money. Look at The Racer. Same thing. It used to be an absolutely visually stunning roller coaster but now it looks like its age. There really is no excuse for that. I could go on but all I would be doing is saying things we all already know and it would not be adding anything useful to the discussion of the pictures. The bridge from the Oktoberfest corridor to Bubba Gumps (I forget what it used to be named) should never have been removed. The log flume thru the tree tops brings back some of the fondest memories I have being a child and riding that with my mother and father and sisters in the early-mid seventies. We just loved that ride. What do we have now? Congo Falls. White Water Canyon is awesome but it isn't the same as a good old fashioned log flume. Hell, Congo Falls doesn't even meet that standard. CF is a kiddie ride like Little Bills Giggle Coaster is. Anyway, let me say thanks again for posting your wonderful pictures of a time gone by. Really great seeing the park when there was pride in it.

Well don't tell Universal Studios that. They are building a Harry Potter section.

It will be a truly sad day when (if) Scooby leaves the park. It will be a dis-service to Scooby as he has been there from the beginning of the Kings Island dynasty. Getting rid of Scooby will be taking away the last identifiable reason for Kings Islands existance. Remember, the whole purpose of the park was to incorporate the Hanna-Barbarra acquired characters. Yes, it will be a sad, sad day for us all. Snoopy and the Peanuts gang though I am very pleased to see coming.

Yes it was mentioned. Still the only "confirmed" information is that there was a page on the KI official website (hackers maybe?) and that it was removed. Untill something is put up or 'officially' announced it is still nothing more than rumors & conjection on everyones part here and Screamscape.

What really saddens me about all this is the negative responses like "it won't be KI to me anymore." I like Spongbob. I really enjoy Patrick and Spongebobs antics, so don't get me wrong. But it is all mindless fun. Still it is fun true enough. but when a child is raised on mindless fun, how do you think that child will be as an adult? Mindless fun is totally acceptable once a thinking fun is planted and nurtured. Peanuts is a thinking fun. Yes I know, no one wants to 'think'. That is what is so sad. Peanuts is in and Nick U is out for one reason and it isn't to **** people off. It is financial I'm sure. CF already owns the rights to Peanuts so it makes perfect sense from a business standpoint and a realistic decision. My wife told me that she also disagrees with the Peanuts haters here that they are unrecognizable. That is untrue. Snoopy and woodstock as well as the rest of the gang are plastered all over Justice for Girls for example. If I am not mistaken that is the 'in' clothing store for girls. That tells me right there that there is a definite market and demand for Peanuts. I would honestly say that Charlie Brown & Snoopy are almost as recognizable as Mickey Mouse & Pluto are. I mean look at how Disney is going down the tubes with that themeing. Wouldn't it be nice to have the word 'gang' mean not such a bad thing anymore? I think it would. Kids are really going to enjoy the Peanuts characters. And for those that whine saying the children won't know who they are all I can say is that they never knew who Spongebob was either untill they were introduced to him (it). Once they are introduced to Peanuts I am willing to bet the children will love them. Give the kids some credit. And give Peanuts a chance to work their magic.
