Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
Snowman replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Is it a bad idea to yell "Fire" in a crowded Action Theater? "New addition to DA, Pete's Dragon, Elliot" Seriously, very glad no one was hurt. -
I didn't realize Godzilla was one of the exhibits! (it had to be said) Glad no one was hurt.
-
True. It's not like we calmly maintain an orderly line once we get past them.

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
Snowman replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Oh yeah...I bet CP's WindSeeker will cycle riders faster 'cause it's gonna hold TWICE as many riders as KI's WindSeeker! I actually heard while in line for Delirium a couple of weeks ago that maXair in CP holds 75 riders versus Delirium's 50. Banging.... Head..... On.....Que..... Rail! -
I've been every weekend since opening day, and they haven't been on yet. Has KI had any weapon violence in the park? I've seen some rowdy guests but I've never felt threatened.
-
From my perspective it's solid evidence that 35 to 40 of the 60 or so people eating at McD's had blue KI handstamps, because I saw them. It's anecdotal to anyone reading this because I'm sharing the evidence I saw. There was also evidence that everyone there was eating solid food! Maybe McD's could sponsor The film at Action Theater. (Desparate attempt to get this thread back on topic!!)
-
Easily 35 to 40 clearly blue branded KI patrons. out of maybe 60 people in all. They were all in different small groups. Let's not forget the constant drive through business at these places.
-
Here's a little one. If you get in line to Invertigo for the seats closest to the control room, (to the right of the que) look at the control panel. The beads on the keychain that is plugged in the panel clearly spell out "Face Off".
-
The problem is, you're making grand assumptions based on no solid evidence whatsoever. Cutting the food prices in half means three times as many people would buy the food? Really? If it were that easy, it would have been done already. To voice agreement with GYK: My wife and I left the park at noon today, went about 2 miles north to McD's, got Big Mac, 1/4 pounder, McDouble, med tea.... 8 bucks and change. Enjoyed meal in AC restaurant, got refills and were back in park 45 minutes later. At least 3/4 of the patrons had bright blue hand stamps. We don't care for McD's, but left park to save money. How's that for solid evidence? Edit: I wish KI would send a food and beverage manager to McD's and let him/her sit there and count how many KI handstamps they see, I think the numbers would really be a shocker.

Ark Bible Park In Kentucky?
Snowman replied to Coasterkidd23's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
You speak the truth 74Gibson. I'm all for joy wherever it can be found, but this is crossing the separation of church and state line. A quote from a reverend: “The state of Kentucky should not be promoting the spread of fundamentalist Christianity or any other religious viewpoint,” said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United. “Let these folks build their fundamentalist Disneyland without government help.” There's even talk of additional taxpayer funds to pay for road improvements leading to the park. It just doesn't seem right. -
Ark Bible Park In Kentucky?

$40 million in tax breaks? APPROVED!!! http://news.travel.aol.com/2011/05/19/noahs-ark-theme-park-gets-final-go-ahead-in-kentucky/ Do you think Athiests could get that to build an "Evolution" theme park in Kentucky? -
Pure speculation on my part that they'll roll out (or up) WindSeeker with DA's opening. From reading many other posts and threads on here, I'm guessing speculation is encouraged for debate purposes. It was a mistake to state WindSeeker will be open next weekend as fact. I will edit my first post.
-
Is it the end of an era? Let's hope not. With all the excitement about DA/WindSeeker opening next weekend(EDIT: I am guessing WindSeeker will open with DA), we shouldn't ignore the possibility that this weekend might be the last for Beast/DB ERT. I want to offer a serious thank you to anyone associated with KI reading this for deciding to have a Beast/DB ERT this season until DA/WindSeeker was ready. My wife and I are planning a marathon this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. These 2 coasters actually had a large impact on our decision to move to Cincy, and the chance to ride them early for the last season and a month have been wonderful. I genuinely hope KI decides to include Beast/DB for gold/platinum passers to enjoy during ERT's again this season. Please let KI know how much you've enjoyed riding these amazing coasters before the general public got through the gates, and maybe they'll include them in future ERT's, (513) 754-5700.

Let's hope. You gotta admit having a tent for the front entrance isn't exactly a vote of confidence for a long run. Maybe it's there just to provide a big "reveal" on opening day.
-
If you look at the DA webcam, it looks like the entrance building is nothing more than a rental tent. Definately not what I would call a permenant structure. Maybe it's just temporary. (as tents tend to be)

Why would KI just paint Flight Deck's track? It would seem that if they're going to the trouble, and are already up there, they would paint the supports as well. It's still a great coaster. Worth the walk.

Dissenting points of view are a large part of what makes this site such an interesting read. As long as it doesn't turn into personal attacks or insults, what's wrong with questioning and debating KI's decisions? We're obviously all passionate about KI overall ( we wouldn't be here if we weren't), but voicing what we think are poor decisions helps to vent frustrations. Imagine how much pent up hostility some posters would have if it weren't for these forums? A mindlessly supportive fansite would get a little boring: What do you think about DA?..... It's a great idea!!!!..... What do you think about DA?....... I think it's a great idea too.......... What do you think changing Spongebob to DA3D?..... It's great!!!!!......What do you think about it?...... It's great!.... What do you think about KI not opening SOB this year?....... It's great!......What do you think about it?.....I think it's great too!.....What do you think about KI changing ERT from DB/Beast to WindSeeker Vortex?...... I think it's great!..... What do you think about them changing the ERT?..... I think it SUCKS!!!...............Get off our site!!!!!!!!!

Something needs to be pointed out that I think many people on here have missed: DA exhibit is "just" 5 dollars by itself DA3D is "just" 4 dollars by itself Package price is "just" 7 dollars. So those of you mad at KI for the new 2 dollar upcharge to see a 10 minute no motion movie, surprise..... it's a 4 dollar upcharge!!!!

Dollywood's new ride Barnstormer
Snowman replied to normal's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Very cool theming! I gotta admit Dolly's people know their stuff when it comes to the old timey, folksie, style for the park. Thanks for the photos. -
Maybe they should have made another catagory on the park map, "Upcharge Attractions": Xtreme Skyflyer Thunder Alley Slingshot Dinosaurs Alive FX Theater $5 to dry off after White Water Canyon Seems like alot of extra charges after paying to get through the gate
-
Do ya think they'll open up Dino no moving seat theater for Gold Passers' ERT? When my neck gets too sore from a Vortex marathon, I'd love to pay an extra 2 bucks to see a Dino commercial. I miss DB/Beast ERT already. KI has a prime opportunity for heavy duty advertising for DA here, and they're going to charge $2 to sell it. MISTAKE!!!!!

GYK, The bullets on the helicopter's machine guns are visible during the day! I rode it yesterday. Also while the machine guns are shooting, if you look at the wall on the right you can see the bullet hits light up. Very Cool!!
-
Very happy to update this thread. I rode Delirium today and ALL of the headrests have clean shiny black headrests!!!! No orange and hair products visible. My OCD is happy.

I now have proof Diamondback is the most patriotic coaster ever. This morning DB was supposed to be open for ERT (possibly one of the last weekends for it),my wife and I along with many other gold passers rushed to the entrance of DB only too find a ride op stopping us to say DB was experiencing "Mechanical Problems". We stood in line as we were told it should open soon. Many people went on to ride Beast. Time kept going by, no testing, no movement. At 10:00 the National Anthem played over the loud speakers, and as soon as it ended the supervisor came out of the control room and waived us in! Mechanical problem fixed at exactly 10 o'clock. So all it took was the National Anthem to fix it. DB wouldn't work until it heard it's favorite song. It was amazing. That brought a tear to my eye and made me Proud to be an American. So in conclusion KI, if WindSeeker or Vortex has "Mechanical Problems" for ERT the rest of this season, don't worry about calling maintenance, just play the National Anthem! Other than that, Amazing day at an amazing place. Beast seems smoother and faster. Delirium has all new black headrests!!!
