  1. Think you were outraged 2 days ago? It was reported this morning that the first 2 laps went fine but on the 3rd lap, the operator has admitted that he sped the train up to "make it more exciting for the kids". As a result the train derailed while going around a bend too fast. So probably not mechanical failure, just a moron at the controls. Let the lawsuits begin!! My heart goes out to the families of this avoidable tragedy.
  2. Last year was mine and my wife's first Haunt. We went every weekend and had a blast. We never saw any vandalism, other than the terrible things done to staplers and garbage cans by scantily clad midgets with down right sassy attitudes. Was there an incident not published that you were refering to?
  3. I'm not really disagreeing with you but merely adding a point to ponder. Doesn't the daily admission to the park, parking, and/or cost of a season pass discourage most vandalizing "riffraff" anyway?
  4. Doesn't it look to you like the Red Racer track is 190 feet from the outside of the WindSeeker's circle? I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just curious.
  5. Good points TombRaiderFTW. Now to "clean up" this issue.(Sorry Terp) If the inevetible coins falling from pockets are given the proper frisbee motion that could be provided from WindSeeker's rotation, wouldn't you think given the right circumstances they could get some pretty serious distance?

    The ERT Poll

I voted DB and Beast. Because those 2 were the ones I was assured would be open for ERT in 2011 by KI's customer service reps and KI's website when we renewed our gold passes during 2010 Haunt!! Please call (513) 754 5700 during regular business hours. Push 0 to get to a human. Politely let them know how much you want them to deliver on what they promised last year while selling us 2011 gold/platinum passes. That's right, I'm going to beat this horse with the biggest stick I can find as often as I can. Thanks McSalsa for starting this thread. To all the Haters: "Feel free to hate on me"- Katt Williams
  7. A couple of gross physics questions: If there is a "protein spill" while someone is at the top of the Drop Tower as it releases, doesn't the "protein" just go straight down? On WindSeeker though while spinning 30+ miles an hour 300ft in the air(not sure what the diameter of the seats' circle will be since that would be a factor to), isn't there a good possibility of some serious LONG DISTANCE projectile "protein"? Not so sure about the Red Racer after this thought.
  8. I believe that this thread exposes just how absurd it is to compare this cheap walk-through Dinosaurs Alive trail to the many live animals and air conditioned monorail that made up the Safari! I honestly had no intent to imply any comparison, and from TombraiderTy's presentation it doesn't seem fair to compare the two. Partly because Safari was years in the making while DA will be assembled in a couple of months. It was simply a goofy joke. I never got to see the Safari, and don't expect to see DA. I'm genuinely indifferent about DA being added, and I hope everyone who is excited about it is blown away, and KI makes a killing on it so they can add a coaster next year.
  9. This is an interesting point you make sir. After all Racer has 2 coasters, 2 colors, 2 complete circuit tracks, 2 paths( although mirrored). If you take the red track you get a view of the house of Spongebob, and the soon to open swingy thingy. If you take the blue track, you see storage, woods, and soon to open Flintstones on steroids (for free, and you won't have to walk). Should be 2 coasters.
  10. That was a terrific read! Let's just hope the Dino's don't escape like the 50 baboons!!! Thank you for the history lesson.
  11. Agreed very sad. One correction, Spartanburg is in South Carolina. And WLWT reported that it was in an Amusement Park and not a City Park. I've always been concerned about the safety of those city maintained miniature trains.
  12. I would like to make an observation about all the speculation of DA coming to KI. I went back to the beginning of the 97+ page thread about this and noticed something interesting: "Shaggy" started the thread, and in post #3 wrote "Just a guess, but it may be something as simple as one of those animatronic dinosaur walk-throughs." From now on, I'm just going to believe what "Shaggy" posts, save myself 90 pages and hours of speculation! You sir either have serious insider connections (maybe even the Don in disguise), or are an amazing psychic. Well played, much respect to you!!! On topic: My wife and I can only go on weekends, so we're hoping this attraction will thin out some of the coaster lines. I hope everyone that's excited about this is not disappointed and have a good time. We're pretty much indifferent. Maybe for the 40th anniversary they'll switch out Spongebob movie for the Dino one.
  13. Your probably right about a deal with Dinosaurs Unearthed. So who will be in charge of the upkeep, and will it even be permenant when they see not many people will want to pay 5 bucks repeatedly to walk through this. Don't get you hopes up for ERT, but good luck anyway.
  14. That's funny stuff! Ya'll are quick! Maybe a couple of Skyline Chilidogs! I would have said Fresh Cut French Fries but aren't those $6?
  15. Personally, not interested in paying 5 bucks to walk a 4,000 foot path around 12.5 acres. Also I don't go to KI to get "educated", I come to KICentral and get my education here. (thanks Terp, and the other Guru's) To everyone who is excited about this, I sincerely hope you enjoy every foot (and claw) of it! Maybe it will free up DB and Beast some on the weekends.
  16. Welcome to KIC, this is a great place with a lot of entertaining and VERY knowledgable members, a couple of trolls and many smarta$$es! I know it's silly but I got a little excited when my 100th post changed my status from "tourist" to "local". Maturity is not one of my strong point. I vaguely remember that the "Everyone Walk the Dinosaur" song had a painfully catchy chorus. (coming from an old school rock and roller) " boom acka lacka" = Firehawk's chain dogs on the lift hill!
  17. Thanks DJ Todd. I smell a Theme Song!!!!!
  18. I think reading the "StalkerChick" and "KevinL332" back and forth proves a very important point about going after posters personally. An opposing view doesn't warrant an insult. StalkerChick assumes KevinL332 doesn't know a swing ride from a whole in the ground because he doesn't have as many posts as she does, and attempts a failed "slam" on him as a "n00b". OOOPS! Even if she's right, there's no reason to make it an insult to be a new poster here. This has been a really fun KI fan site for me this past year and I have enjoyed many debates. Let's try to keep it fun for the "n00bs" so they'll stick around and turn into "old foagies" (By the way, how many posts do you need for that to be official?) A thread that had a legitimate call to action got locked as a result of personal attacks recently: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23419 While I've disagreed with just about everything "Raptorguy" has said, I never made a personal attack against him. Now it turns out he and I are in complete agreement about KI's possible ERT decisions. I'm sure I'll go back to completely disagreeing with him in the near future, but the point is you never know who you'll find common ground with, and personal "slams" stop the process of figuring it out. I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming on "As KICentral Turns" On Topic: Wasn't there a pop song in the 80's called "Everyone walk the Dinosaur"?
  19. I know how to kill this thread.... I wonder if they'll make this Dino walkthrough part of the Goldpass ERT's!!!
  20. Maybe they'll provide foot powered vehicles like on the Flintstones.
  21. I've got it! They are going to buy the Monorail that Jungle Jim's has sitting unused in their parking lot! (I'm not putting a smiley emoticon here. If you don't get the joke, just keep reading!)
  22. Hard hat guy, " Sooo.. the entrance is going over here, and the blue piece goes here....." Cap guy, " But.....if the blue piece goes here.... then the crane should be over here..." Hard hat guy, "OH CRAP... we built the friggin' crane on the wrong side!" Third guy, "Wait a minute....You guys got the blueprints upside down" Hard hat guy, "WHEWWW" Tensions are riding high! Edit: Picture changed, never mind, It was funny at the time, nothing to see here, just keep moving....
  23. This would be the reason there are 59(and counting) pages of what are mostly redundant statements with very few new thoughts! It's obvious KI is going to have a FLINTSTONES attraction.
  24. Hey... This must be the attraction that's being announced this friday!! Great find.
  25. Now we know where the "Beiber" got the idea for his haircut!!!
