Someone mentioned that Kings Island is trying to get opinions from the fans of what they want to see come to Kings Island in the future. Is there a part of Kings Island on their website where we can submit this kind of information? Hopefully Kings Island reads these forums because I would love for them to put in a B&M Floorless roller coaster. Those are fun!

Referring to Original's post here. Sorry buddy don't know your name. Wouldn't it be something if they built another wooden roller coaster in that same spot? Like I said, hopefully Gravity Group or GCI comes in and builds Kings Island another wooden roller coaster in the future. I won't hold my breath though. Whatever is in the best interest of Kings Island for the future, I"m sure I'll enjoy.

Anybody know if they will be pointing a webcam at Son of Beast for the deconstruction?
-
They probably won't start until the end of August. Just a guess though.

Like I said before, I hope Kings Island at least keeps the station from Son of Beast. That station is beautiful and could be used again for a Steel or wooden roller coaster. I know a lot of people are saddened about seeing Son of Beast go, but think of it this way, at least your back will stay in good shape. What I mean by that is when I rode Son of Beast back in 2000, I was praying to God to let this ride be over with because it beat the heck out of me. Did I sue? No! I just swore that never again would I ride it. I do hope that someday KI builds another wooden roller coaster that does feature a loop now that we know that it can be done! I still would love to see GCI or GG come in to build the next wooden roller coaster for Kings Island if that in fact is their plans for the future. In my opinion, if you can have 90 degree turns like what you see on Voyage, you can add a loop.

What kind of coaster should replace Son of Beast?
Shawn Meyer replied to McSalsa's topic in KI Polls
I voted for a B&M Floorless roller coaster since we don't have one In Ohio. We haven't had B&M Floorless roller coaster since Dominator packed it's bags and left for Kings Dominion. Maybe Kings Island can set a new record by creating the first floorless to reach the 200 ft mark. I think that would be cool! -
Well if they did this, they would keep the first hill and drop up.
-
No! What I mean is less trees have to be cut down for the structure. The wood would be used for just the track instead of both.

I wonder if Kings Island will at least keep the station from Son of Beast? That way whatever the next roller coaster is can have a piece of history of what was once there. I hope Kings Island is in discussion with Gravity Group or Intamin to build another wooden roller coaster. I would mostly lean towards Gravity Group since they built Voyage. Plus, I like the idea of parks going this route because it means less trees get cut down.

I want to see Kings Island add a B&M Floorless roller coaster. We haven't had a B&M Floorless coaster in Ohio since Dominator packed it's bags and left for Kings Dominion. Hopefully Kings Island reads my post on this.

YES! YES! YES! YES! Thank you Kings Island! Now we don't have to keep bugging Kings Island of what's going in it's place or what is the fate of SOB?
-
I know alot of you guys like SOB, but I would vote for that ride to go just for the fact when it was in operation, it was more brutal than Mean Streak. I am going to stick up for Mean Streak and say I like it! I know many people cannot stand it, but I like it!

Here I thought maybe you guys heard something. Talk about teasing...lol

In my opinion, they have made up their mind; Kings Island and Cedar Fair and are keeping it secret until it's time to announce plans at the end of the summer. This is usually when a lot of parks start announcing new rides anyway so this leads me think that's what they're doing.
-
Since we are starting a new thread as of today, I wanted to transfer my previous comment I made. I think it would be cool if SOB was completely torn down and re-built. However I agree with the dude who said why not save the first hill part and re-do the whole entire structure with a new layout built by a new manufacturer. You have a good opinion and I like it, but we cannot rule out it never happening. We just don't know what Kings Island has in their minds of what they plan to do with SOB yet and I wish and hope they make some kind of announcement at the end of this summer. Waiting on their decision of SOB right now is like waiting for the Cleveland Indians to win a world series which hasn't been done since 1948.

I myself, never even thought of that. That makes more sense rather than tearing it down now and then a few months later developing something new. That would be wasting more money to hire and rent the equipment twice. For a structure like SOB though, how would they take it down? Wrecking Ball?

I have mentioned this before, but I would love to see Kings Island invest in a Floorless roller coaster! Kings Dominion and Dorney Park both have one. Ohio hasn't had a Floorless since Geauga Lake closed. Plus it would be a roller coaster that Cedar Point doesn't have up north. Does anybody else like my idea?
-
Does anyone know why they are still waiting on a decision of what to do with SOB? I mean as far as I know, the lawsuits are done with now am I right? I just want Cedar Fair to make a decision with this roller coaster.
-
What am I looking forward to? Hopefully the announcement of S.O.B being demolished/removed and the coming of a new roller coaster in it's spot. They need to make a decision on that. S.O.B is killing their roller coaster lineup plus taking up too much real estate that could be used for another roller coaster or two.

I really enjoyed the Comfort Inn that's over on Montgomery road somewhere.
-
I think it would be cool if Kings Island Installed a B&M floorless roller coaster. Every time I go on vacation to Dorney Park or this year Kings Dominion, I have really enjoyed them and think they would be great at Cedar Point or Kings Island. We haven't had one in Ohio since Dominator left. What's also nice about them is most of them aren't that tall so I'm sure they cannot cost too much.
-
I like you guys ideas! My suggestion would maybe re-do SOB. It's still a nice structure of wood, but one of the areas that need re-done is the double helix. I would love for Gravity group to come in and do some work on SOB. If that happens, they could put the loop back in, add some nice air time hills, and have some great 90 degree turns like you see on Voyage. I also say keep the first hill the way it is and do everything I just mentioned Gravity Group style.
-
Sorry buddy for creating a bad topic. I just wanted to ask if that area was open for photography like it used to be.

Maverick00, are you on Pointbuzz? Just wondering since I just recently joined this site. That's awesome that I know someone else on here Anyway though, I think that would be cool seeing a dive machine at Kings Island.
