  1. I’m curious what’s going on with the Action Zone portion of the site that extends into the parking lot.
  2. So, my question is, how large could the new entryway be? Will it be like Worlds of Fun, or have something like Cedar Point?
  3. I have no idea what they mean, as they are case specific. The interesting thing is they are in sequence, and if they’re related to runoff- there wasn’t any work by The Bat’s creek. The 2 may refer to 2 feet off of marker.
  4. Not only that, it looks like they are still adding to it. They wrote the identifying markers for each stake today.
  5. Here’s a picture of an spray indicating excavation in the Preferred Parking lot. Before this gets ridiculed, I’ve done surveying and markings in the past, and the sprays beside it were similar to what I did in construction. That being said, the site runs along the outlined map I’ve made.
  6. There’s more markers, and it extends into parking lot.
  7. We’re talking about Kings Island, not Geauga Lake. KI is the stalwart of the Cedar Fair chain.
  8. I feel the most innovative part were the Gen III trains. They doubled the number of wheels and redesigned the restraint.
  9. However CP got 2 $20 million plus additions over the course of two years. I’m not saying it’s a coaster, but don’t rule out anything with CF. Plus, this park is one of the 4 that makes up the majority of the CF profit. With the park losing a signature coaster in Vortex, it is likely the park is looking for a way to theoretically replace it.
  10. Stakes with markers, spray paint, and flags pinned to ground.
  11. Back to the markers, are there any on the other side of the entry plaza?
  12. The road’s removal is marked along with markings for utility work. If you plot them out on a map, it’s pretty telling.
  13. Yes, there are markers indicating the removal of the road.
  14. Or there are more markers telling a much bigger picture.
  15. I’ll put it this way, does it look like a ride will be removed? Yes.
  16. I would recommend delaying it until next year. People are flying in around the country, and with an ongoing pandemic, it’s not the time to be part of crowded events.
  17. On every register at food locations in the park they now list it as a 2 year deal.
  18. I’ve tried it, and in my opinion, it’s out of this world. The powdered sugar they put in it really pushes it to the next level!
  19. It’s not delayed: https://www.facebook.com/349928541766924/posts/3240847642674985/?d=n
  20. I think when we are looking at future attractions one has to look at the variables. 1. The attraction needs to be tall, and a weenie of the area. Vortex dominated the skyline, and provided the needed backdrop when looking straight at the tower. It is needed to ensure that people see it on I71 and pull over to visit the park. Copperhead Strike is only 82 feet tall (the ride would easily blend in Mystic, Beast, Diamondback and not be seen). 2. The park has a small ravine that can easily be used to break records. Let’s say the park installs a 225 foot tall dive coaster-they could easily create a drop that could approach 250 feet. 3. The ride has to be a high capacity thrill ride. Vortex had a cap of 1600 people per hour (more likely around 1200 considering day to day operations). Copperhead Strike and Maverick have capacities around 1200. However, Valravn has a capacity of 1200 and Yukon Striker has one of 1329. Having been to CP and seeing how efficient they are running Valravn, I feel like it is fair to assume that KI could easily approach 1200 riders per hour. 4. The ride has to provide decent value for the cost. Copperhead Strike cost $26 million dollars. Manta(SD) cost between $35 and $50 million. Time Traveler cost $26 million. Valravn cost between $20 and $25 million, while Yukon cost $25 million. With KI being situated so close to the factory where B&M track is produced, it is fair to assume that if a Yukon clone were plopped directly into KI, it would be cheaper due to negligible shipping costs. 5. Uniqueness and marketability: this is critical. A ride like Vortex can not be replaced easily. The thing is the rumored replacements all have their pitfalls: Raptor-KK is getting one in 2021, Wing Coaster- HW has “the best one” in the eyes of many, Intamin Blitz- would be compared to Maverick, and Dive Coaster-Valravn in CP. Out of all those options, I think the park could have more to work with if they went with a Dive Coaster.
  21. It’s fine to complain when it’s something easily fixable and one knows what they are talking about. It isn’t fine to complain when one has limited expertise in the field and they are complaining just because they don’t like how it looks.
  22. Just tried the Nebula Chill, and it is amazing. More particulars to follow, but it is better than the smurf cone.
