7/31/04 Visit

Featured Replies

Today is the very first time I EVER drove to PKI alone and hung out alone.

WOW - It was too lonely. My main reason for going was to shop at the tent outside of CDBB. I got to the park around 12 PM and it was already PACKED. I only got to ride the Backwards Racer and AE due to limited time. I tried riding The Beast, but it was down after I waited 30 minutes.

I noticed that waiting on line alone is VERY sad and lonely. Not having someone to chat with diminished my experience. However, the rides were as enjoyable as always.

After my 2 hour visit, I went to CDBB to shop and then went home.

Have a great weekend!

Headed to the park myself tonight. I did the old 8-11 shift. The park was crowded. Really crowded.

First ride: The Beast. I was with my friend Coach, and he had never experienced The Beast at night. We paid for it... every single queue was in use. Still wasn't bad because we only waited an hour or so.

Second Ride: Scooters. Always a snap fest. I met up with Todd, Todd, Todd, Todd, Todd, Todd, James, and Ron. (If you are familiar with the group, you get the Todd joke). We took a rather violent and successful spin on the flyers. It's kind of odd because right when I we entered the park, I was telling Coach about how hard Coasterdime can snap. We make the turn around Preston T. Tucker's, and we see a tub whip sideways and hear the loudest crashing noise ever. Sure enough, it was him.

We headed to FoF, but the line was 45mins... and what can I say? I want to ride something NOW! So we aborted.

Ride three: Adventure. I love how it looks now with all the lights. Hat's off to Tech Services.

Ride four: Tomb Raider. The line didn't reach quite outside the cave by this point in the night (5 mins before close). They skipped the first chamber and let us directly into the room where you watch the film. When we rode the ride, it had a different feel to it... I mean, the program was the same, but it just felt more thrilling than usual. Maybe even longer. I may be going crazy. One thing I did notice for sure was the fog at the very end of the program (the one that has the red light shining into it) went off three differet times at the end of the cycle. The topspin was at the neutral position during the last one and it filled the room with mist. I don't know if the ride ops were screwing with us somehow (although I don't think they can do that) because it was the last ride of the day, or if it's part of the program now. Regardless, it was awesome! The mist made it hard to see in there (especially with the red lights on it). Definitely a great way to end the ride!

At this point, I went home.
