fan of beast
yesterday i went to Cedar Point for the first time. the whole day was truly an adventure. we left early to get to the park at opening. about 20 miles from the park, my truck stalled. called a wrecker and got to the local dealership. grabbed a rental and headed on. as soon as we walked in it started a light rain. they shut down all the coasters. we noticed wicked twister open. get thru the line to find i can't latch the seat belt. (i'm not a small guy) i noticed several rides there are not friendly to large people. also couldn't ride MF. take note that i fit in every ride at KI. maverick lines were a couple of hours long. would have liked to have rode it, but we decided to take in everything else the point has to offer. the airtime on magnum was a big plus. at 3, we headed back to the dealer to pick up my truck. i broke the gear on the bottom of the distributor. headed back to the park. one thing i noticed was the smoothness of all cp's coasters. we don't get that at the island. the thrill of the day was TTD. that was an experience. a note for all the ride op's at KI. you guys are a lot friendlier and more helpful than any at CP. i plan on going again in august. the company i work for has me traveling to philly. i have been trying to get to dorney, but my schedule hasn't allowed it. i was going to go on the fourth, but i had to fly back to cincy for a work problem. i'll get a dorney report soon. Gordon Bombay
Sorry to hear about the luck on your truck fan of beast, but I'm glad you still got to have a good trip. Yes, a lot of CP rides are not friendly to larger people, but I'm glad to see that despite the aggrivation of the truck problems and not being able to ride some of the rides that you still had a good time. I've met a lot of good ride ops at CP esp on my last trip this past June, but there were a few who had no idea what guest service was. I think its great that they offer a test seat our front of the queue lines for guests to try but when they judge guests before they enter a queue line and flat out tell them "you cant fit" without even offering the test seat I lose a lot of respect for that employee. This happened to me while attempting to get in line for MF last year, I had a ride op blatently tell me that I wouldnt be able to fit on the ride, even after I had ridden it earlier in the day. I was told to "not even bother to wait in line" and then after I did I was not only able to fit but had room to spare, I should have bough an on ride photo and given a copy to that ride op. Hope you have a safe and good work trip to philly and get to try Dorney soon!
