welchce
So after hearing on Thursday (7/19) that SoB was finally reopened, I sent a text message to a bunch of my friends and asked if anyone wanted to go Friday (7/20). 3 of my friends did so I was excited that we were going to finally get to ride it since we went up last Thursday (7/12) and it wasn't open. So three of us went up and got there at four and the fourth was going to meet us after work. The three of us went right to SoB to make sure we got at least one ride. The line looked surprisingly short but it was still a 30-40 minute wait. I sat in red train car 2 row 1 left seat. After the horrendously loud lift hill, the ride felt fairly smooth. It looked like they might've added a brace-type structure to the bottom of the rose bowl to try to minimize roughness. I liked what they did with where they loop used to be. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. Once we got off our other friend showed up so we meet up with him and started to make a counter-clockwise route around the park. We walked right through NickU to TR:TR. We got in line which went to the cave entrance and it didn't feel like it was long till we were a few people before the final gate before the waiting room and preshow room. For some reason we waited there for what seemed around 5-10 minutes. Once we were finally allowed to continue, we walked right through the first waiting room into the preshow room where they didn't so the preshow. It also seemed like there were two bright maintenance lights on. The screen didn't come up/wasn't up while we were in there so they might've been working on that. Also during the ride, I noticed right away since we were in the first row that the light on the gondola wasn't on. This was very disappointing. The rest of the ride was the normal not-very-kept-up-theme ride. When everyone was getting their goods out of the pouches, a kid a little bit in front of us had his cell phone open and was using it but made the mistake of holding it too close to the edge and of course he dropped it. I just chuckled and kept walking. Of course next we went to Beast where nothing of note happened except a short wait and a quality ride. Next we were going to go to Vortex but I decided to meet my brother and two friends to ride the Recar first and then make our way back to Vortex. My friends didn't feel like riding Recar so they just rode Vortex by themselves and then again with us. I love the airtime you get going over the first hill on Vortex when sitting in the back. After the ride my brother and his friends decided to leave the park to eat whereas none of my friends felt like leaving so we went to Festhaus and partook in the July LaRosa's Gold Pass Meal Deal. I thought it was pretty quality since it was only 8 bucks a person and everyone got a salad, 2 slices of pizza, and a drink. If I go again before the month is out I will try to do this again. After dinner we decided to check out some shops since we saw the 60% off Paramount items. I got myself a Scooby-Doo shirt for $5.54 thats pretty awesome. Then we went to the Grand Carousel to let our food settle some more. After walking to IJ:ST and seeing that the line was longer than any of us wanted to wait to ride it, we walked back toward X-Base and waited a half an hour for FoF. It was a good ride but I can't wait for the tour of the building Then on our way to Action Zone we stopped at AE for a ride since my one friend said she had not rode it in a couple years. While riding I didn't see a train on SoB's course or going up the hill. However when we got off AE and were in line for Delirium, I heard the clunking 200ft up and we decided that we would check out the line for SoB once we got off Delirium because we wanted to ride Beast again before the park closed. After waiting a couple cycles for Delirium it was a little after 9 and the line was shorter for SoB then it was earlier in the day so we decided to ride it again and then try to run back to Beast. Once we got into the SoB station we noticed that the 3rd car in the red train was roped off. So we chose to go after the 2nd car's lanes since they appeared the shortest. After a debacle with the people in front of our friends trying to ride the same time their friends in the 3rd car, we got on and my seat was blue train car 2 row 1 left seat. The exact same spot as the first ride in the day except that I was in the blue train this time and the red train earlier. This being said, I did find my ride on the blue train rougher in the rose bowl than what I experienced in the red train. Still an exciting and quality ride but it was already past 9:50 when we got off so we decided to leave instead of running back to The Beast and possibly not getting on and having to deal with all the traffic leaving. So we were there from 4-10 and rode SoB, TR:TR, Beast, Recar, Vortex, Carousel, FoF, AE, Delirium, and SoB. Even though I normally average 2 rides per hour, the crowds were average sized but we just took it nice and easy. One thing I did wonder about SoB is that why don't they have a 3rd train? I guess because they don't have enough blocks to be able to run 3 but there were a couple times when both trains were out and neither were in the brakes or station. Hopefully you enjoyed the report. Sorry for this being later than when I normally post right when I get home but I was tired when I got home so I just went to bed.
