Captain Picard
I would guess that Cedar Fair can't say anything as there are rules they would need to follow when it's a publicly held company. I think they have to wait till the have something like a conference call to say anything about these things.
Browntggrr
The story of a sale seemed rather fast, and all current indications, not true. For Mr. Kinzel to come out to squash rumors about his potential new employer does speak volumes.
ragerunner
If you read their response they were careful not to say weather or not they were in any negotiations to sell individual parks. They only said they were not in active talks to sell the company. It almost seems to read as if they may have some discussions going on about individual parks in an effort to 'increase value to our unitholders". "We are not currently in discussions with that organization or any other party for the sale of the company. Of course, the board continuously challenges management to find the best strategic alternatives available to increase value to our unitholders, and I do receive inquiries from time to time about a particular park or group of parks, whether it is to sell or to even buy additional parks. Consistent with our policy, I do not intend to comment on any of these discussions on an ongoing basis."
