Ole South USA (proposed park)

Recommended Posts

Thanks to ScreamScape i found this http://www.olesouthusa.com which by the beginning looks of it seems like a great possibility. I know personally I am hoping and praying for the Nashville area to get something since the demise of Opryland. I just wanted to hear what everyone else thought about this proposed park.

Capital of the world Deserves a great park, it was still wrong to knock down Opryland, but Nashville will get something!!

I hear it was due to maintenance/upkeep costs and low ridership.

On top of it they got a great new Giant Top Spin!

.... Errrrrrrrr - But Seriously

I'll be nice to have another park in the Nashville Area.

If it's even a fraction of as perfect as Opryland was, it will be amazing.

I found this article which sheds a bit more light on Ole South USA and when it's supposed to open...

New Park, Old Theme

A proposed theme park and destination resort near Nashville, TN is one step closer to reality after a consulting company conducted a feasibility study and gave the project's developers an A-OK. Called Ole' South USA, the complex would include the Ole' South Experience theme park, featuring roller coasters and other thrill rides, lots of music, and other attractions designed around a southern hospitality theme. One of the proposed attractions in a land called The Ole' South Mansion and Gardens sounds suspiciously like the wonderful Soarin' rides at Disney's California Adventure and Epcot. According to materials released by the developers, the ride would simulate hang gliding over the South and would include flyovers of signature places such as the Mississippi River and Florida orange groves, complete with the smell of orange blossoms. The planned resort would also offer a water park, a resort lodge, camping, golfing, and other amenities. The Ole' South Experience is projected to open spring 2010.
