Also, tomorrow, on the Travel Channel, the show Theme Park Secrets, featuring PKI, will air at 5:00pm. It's a repeat from last year, but I never got to see it.

I know I hate to miss coaster shows, so I thought it would be cool to post an update.

dangit!! right when i looked at my watch it was EXACTLY 7 (6 my time) arg!!!

but it's ok i taped it last year (goes to watch the tape)

Yes, and I was interviewed on this show - for only about 15 seconds. It's in the latter half of the show.

Yes it is and I saw you cheif and you made Tomb Raider sound even more fun than it really is. But the about the heights I am not too sure about that one.

What's wrong with what he said? I'm sure people who are afraid of heights wouldn't want to be up 70 feet in the air. Not to mention you're flipping upside down a couple times.

I taped Extreme Rides 2003 last night. I thought that this was an excellent show. Superb coverage of Delirium. I liked some of the other flats they showed like the swatter. I also thought that the one coaster, Colossus, with the ten inversions, looked really boring. Then I realized, it has to be. The ride is less than a minute and you can only go so fast through the inversions. So, it must be doing inversions for nearly the entire ride. Too bad they didn't cover Tomb Raider more, even though I don't like the ride.

I taped it too. wow you would think it pulled you up at the begining and used gravity at the end. Delirium confuses me now.

I think I have their explanation down loosely so sorry if it's confusing.

Basically, at the beginning of the ride, the motors swing the arm out to get the momentum up. Like Ed Dangler said, once they get to the end of each of the pendulum strokes, they just halt the motors, let it start to come down, reverse the motors polarity and punch it down at a high rate of speed. This means it's punching it down faster than gravity. It's a little hard to explain and maybe someone can do it better.

The ride's drive system is about 1200 horses strong; You should see the it's e-stop, it's quite interesting.

70 feet is quite high for some people. I can't get my wife, my sister, or my parents on TR:TR. They all fear height.

jmcowen, were you watching the same show? Extreme Rides 2003? It had a big feature on Delirium. I'm not trying to sound like a smart @ss.
