WooferBearATL
Dumbing down of America. Thinking that people need an amusement park to come and enjoy a historic site.
The Interpreter
Ever been to Gettysburg? Both now and in the past, that place has always had a veritable menagerie of attractions around it, from dime museums to tourist trap souvenir shops. Many disapprove, others strongly support what is already there, encroaching on the battlefield itself. There was a particularly gaudy viewing tower that existed for quite some time before being removed. To this day, many miss it, while others applaud that it is gone. This is just the newest phase of a long running battle. Anyone remember Disney's America, which was also to be built around Civil War battlefields? WooferBearATL
Yes, I've been to Gettysburg many times. But it's a major piece of this countries history. It should be protected. It should not be Vegas.
