A Walt Disney World That's Not Actually A Walt Disney World

From Screamscape:

Ever since Disney decided to build a theme park in Hong Kong and began talking about building another in China, we’ve heard countless reports from other various countries about how they too were making deals to build their own official Disney parks. Meanwhile a fellow down in Argentina has decided on a different plan to bring open a “Disney” park in his country… he’ll just steal the name. Take a look and you’ll see a small website teaser for Walt Disney Mundo SA Inc., which tries to get their concept across through a painful to watch 10 minute video. They do note that they have no relationship with the true Walt Disney Company at all on the site, though this hardly explains their actions. Perhaps the best thing about the website is the crazy looking green logo with the crowned butterfly and mutton-chopped fellow in the background.

And in all fairness, this isn't the first time someone's made an attempt to copy a Disney park.

In fact, six years after Disneyland opened in California, Nara Dreamland debuted to the Japanese public in 1961:

Rumors were spread around about Dreamland supposedly being the result of a partnership with the Japanese and Disney himself that, unfortunately, fell through during construction. Allegedly.

As of now, the park's closed indefinitely, but what made the park stand out was the inclusion of two roller coasters (one wood the other steel) that one could find at any Six Flags/Cedar Fair park.

Oh, and the fact that it looked like total crap in its last few years and received almost no guests whatsoever.

....kinda makes ya glad Japan's got a REAL Disney park of their own now. Actually, make that two (Tokyo Disneyland and the FREAKIN' AWESOME Tokyo DisneySea)!

If the Walt Disney Company loses a lawsuit against the other (hypocritical) people, the we're screwed.

That creates precedent for someone to open a burger stand called "Wendy's," a guy named John C. Penny to open a department store featuring his first two initials and last name*, or the right to open a "Mary Ott Inn."**

*I purposely spelled it "Penny," as it is different than the existing company "JCPenney."

**Remember MikeRoweSoft.com? That kid's site didn't last long.

Just personal commentary.
