I don't get it. Did CF sell Gilroy Gardens to the city? If so, why would CF still have an interest? Maybe I need to re-read this story after I get more than 4 hours of sleep.

Just as when CBS sold the former campground to Great Wolf Lodges and retained a percentage interest...which was later offered to Cedar Fair, who turned it down....(CBS later sold its retained interest to GWL)

A seller can keep an interest in something it sells.

That all being said, I believe the park was actually sold by a non-profit organization and the park was only managed by Cedar Fair. The retained interest by Cedar Fair is probably to secure past due management fees, but I am only speculating...
