Jasper
Well today we got to the park at around 10:05 and pulled in to a wacky kind of maze-like parking system. Saw that the processing line was long as usual so i decided to come back later. Entered the park to see a good sight. The fountains going in full blast and a very beautiful almost Busch Garden like park. We went to Firehawk first to avoid later long lines and only waited about 20 minutes. This is a one of a kind coaster i love it. Next since we were over there we hit FOF and the line was out of the hangar but there were no turnstials open so it was about a 10 minute wait. On-ride video is gone but all the theming seems to be in good shape. Kind of disappointed i didn't get to see the show in the hangar. Next we went by The Vortex and saw a good size line so we headed over to The Beast. Had the best ride of the day in the very back seat on it and saw Nemo working there keeping his nose to the grindstone. Gotta love the classic Beast. Best in the world! Then came a pleasant enjoyable ride on BLSC. After this it was time to go eat. We went and ate at thew Festhaus where we got to watch the new County Line show which i was very much impressed with. The food was pretty good and didn't really have any complaints with the employees or anything along those lines. Rode Viking Fury and then headed to Action Zone. Decided to skip Delirium and since my friend had never rode SOB we got in line for it and waited about 25 minutes. This coaster isn't all that bad IMO. I do beleive they could have done something better with the loop area but i was shocked to see the camera over there so it really took me by surprise. Then came the first ride of the season on my favorite flat anywhere, Drop Zone (Tower). Waited 2 cycles and had an incredible ride. Nothing compares to the drop on that. We saw no one on Congo Falls so we hit that and did not get wet on the drop but one of the geysers soaked us and needless to say we were very, very cold. Next came Delirium which is another great flat. I love the feeling of looking over the headrest behind you and seeing the park from a different perspective. Went to ride The Racers and rode the red side first due to the fact that this was the first time it was going forward in my lifetime.(NOSTALGIA!) Got smoked by the blue side. So we rode The Blue side and won. Amazing airtime and truly a classic. After this came a ride on The Vortex which was great especially in the back. Still one of the best drops n the land. After this came another ride on The Beast to close it out. Then stopped by Lotsapaloosa and got a KI t-shirt, and went to get my pass processed. Line not bad long and i got it done quick. I was not sure if i got a Cedar Fair V.I.P jacket so i chose to go across the parkikng lot to get a free Full Throttle Fury drink and then headed for Richmond, Ky. Overall a great visit to the park. It is very nice and tidy and everything down to the employees checking seatbelts and restraints are working in tip top shape. Big ups to everyone! PKIVortex
Yes the new placement of the ORP camera on SOB caught me off guard today as well. But I like the change and this is a much better place for it. Way to go KI.
cholderfield
I was very happy to see the camera moved...The placement of it before never made any sense to me...last year was the first time i've ridden SOB...and when i saw the camera flash i was like "WTH?"...since most rides take it when the ride is exciting, going fast, etc, not as your going up a freakin' lift hill!
