May 5, 200818 yr Author Bump. I`m bumping this thread to remind everyone that Coney Island is hosting the Appalachian Festival this weekend. The hours are listed above. This is also the first weekend that Coney`s classic rides will be operating. The rides will operate on Saturday from 12-8, and on Sunday from 12-6. And as I noted in my post above, the new River Runner is not quite ready for riders, and will not be open this weekend.
May 11, 200818 yr Author Just as a note to pass along for anyone planning to go to the Appalachian Festival tomorrow (yes, the weather looks less then perfect by far) a rides wristband (good for all operating rides) is $6. That is on top of the festival admission price. The rides will operate tomorrow (weather permitting) from 12-6pm. Also, in addition to The River Runner, which is not yet ready to makes its debut several other rides are not yet ready for the year. The new Eurobungy Dome is not ready, Frog Hopper and Giant Slide are not ready in their new locations and the Super Round Up is also not ready for operation. After tomorrow, the rides, Sunlite Pool, and hopefully the new River Runner will open for the season on Saturday, May 24.
