RailRider Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Looks like the permits are finally almost complete. WTRF.COM Still pushing ahead with the park, Im amazed honestly at how this plan and place keep hanging around. Quote
Captain Picard Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I think if it gets built it will be closed in a shorter time than it's taking to get it built. Quote
The Interpreter Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 You would think they might have learned SOMETHING from Hard Rock Park. Besides, this "the permits are nearly final" news is not news...and has been going on for some time. Look back here, over a month ago: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...hl=Wild++Escape Quote
RailRider Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Learn SOMETHING,,, ha, this whole plane from day one has been we are different, we are better, we are not effected, the park will go on. Every single park that has opened and failed has the same mindset and rather than deal with the issues pushing against success they continue to move on. Out of sight, out of mind. Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 FINALLY, a new mention of Wild Escape, but it ain't official, ain't very hopeful, appears in a bad context and at the very end of an article: ...And the national economic problems are trickling down to the Northern Panhandle and the tri-state area, he said. "Growth at The Highlands in 2009 probably will not be as large - and be a little more hand-picked - as things are slowing down to some degree," he continued. "I'd like to see the theme park (the planned Wild Escape) take off. ... As you sit back and look at it, I think we've done a pretty good job there. We're still looking at light industrial businesses for there, and our eyes and ear are always open. But it has to be a fit for the folks who live here." http://www.theintelligencer.net/page/conte.../id/518985.html Quote
RailRider Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Update on Wild Escape, yet still no permits in hand. Inteligencer; Wheeling News Register After our recent trip to Oglebay Resort in Wheeling and a trip to the Highlands and Cabellas before heading home I honestly see that as being a really good location for a park, but with as long as this has taken Im not holding my breath. RailRider Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Editorial asking for the permit process to speed up. Wouldn't hold your breath. Quote
