September 11, 200817 yr And oil continues its downward drift, closing at a five-month low at US$102.58, down 68 UScents. . .
September 11, 200817 yr According to CNN, oil fell US$1.71 to settle at US$100.87 a barrel, the lowest price since March 24, as traders fretted over slumping demand.
September 11, 200817 yr Yep, price is dropping per barrel but the price per gal. sure isn't--went from 3.49 yesterday to 3.89 today in the Canton area.
September 11, 200817 yr Hmmm, it seems that Mr. T Boone Pickens was right on his assesment as to the price of oil...
September 12, 200817 yr I filled my truck up this morning at 3.89 a gallon, it cost me $89.30 for about 23 gallons. I was holding out as long as i could, but if i didn't do it this morning, i wouldn't have made it to school. Plus if I waited much longer it probably would've gone up, knowing how things work.

September 13, 200817 yr Hey we are paying 4.49 here in Knoxville, Tn. guys. At least thats what it was around 7pm last night. *raises eyebrows* Would Ike Really have that much effect alone, or do you think something else is coming into play, ripple effect maybe? I'm confused.

Yeah I was confused too was going to fill up on they way to work yesterday morning. But I figured eh I'll just wait and do it on the way home.Mistake should have done it on the way in cause it was only 3.49 so i went at 11 when the next manager came in.It was already at 3.89 in 5 hrs. I think it is a price gouging situation..........it's just to fishy for it to have gone up by a dollar in a matter of 12 hrs.

September 13, 200817 yr They just showed on CNN a gas station somewhere selling regular unleaded for $5.09!
September 14, 200817 yr Talked to my brother in Florida and he said that some of the gas stations are closed because they are out of gas.
September 14, 200817 yr Talked to my brother in Florida and he said that some of the gas stations are closed because they are out of gas. Yeah, I saw that on the news.
September 23, 200817 yr After big drops down, a huge move back up again yesterday, Oil prices explode: http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflas...opStories_ssi_5
September 23, 200817 yr 1. Break our addiction to foriegn oil. 2. Find new cleaner renewable energy sources 3. Make it accesable worldwide. 4. Save the Planet, or what's left of it.
September 23, 200817 yr well here in Knoxville we were all the way up to 4.99 a gallon. Now we are back to about 3.39 per gallon it was a good thing i did not have to fill up when it was at 4.99.
September 23, 200817 yr My brother was telling me that there were fist fights happening in Georgia at gas stations after Hurricane Ike hit and everyone panicked and thought gas was going to shoot up to $5.
September 26, 200817 yr OK Wondering if it's as bad in Ohio as it is in Georgia. The gas stations have been out of gas for over week now. When a station does get gas it's only one grade gas and the lines can run from one to two hours wait. I don't remember the lines being this bad in the 70's embargo. Wondering if Ohio is seeing anything like what we are experiencing down here.
September 26, 200817 yr It was like that in Mason, Ohio on the Monday following Ike, but it quickly went back to normal. In my 70-mile-wide circle of travels, I haven't seen it like that since. I hope it gets back to normal for you quickly.
September 26, 200817 yr Gas has been steadilly going up from what I see. I saw a BP go from 3.76 to 3.87 in a matter of a week.

I hope it gets back to normal for you quickly. Yeah, it's actually crazy down here as people are actually stranded with NO Gas what so ever. I've never seen this type of thing. People are actually not able to make it into work as they can not find gas to put in their vehicles.

People are actually not able to make it into work as they can not find gas to put in their vehicles. And yet they are still going to have the Georgia game, at last word. Many people will get there and not have enough gas to return. Even if they find gas, that is gas a local could have used to go to work or even the hospital (which could even be one and the same). Call me silly, but not postponing that game is ridiculous.

Well, I understand not postponing. The Alabama v Georgia game is a huge game. In fact, college football in the South is like no where else I've seen in the country. It's a huge part of life. The issue is that many of the people that come from Alabama will stuck and stranded here until Monday or Tuesday they say.
September 28, 200817 yr Still Out of Gas Well, after pretty much being stranded this weekend.... WooferBear went out early this morning searching for gas. After searching for about an hour, I found a station with gas. Then waited for an hour in line. Soooooo, can actually go to work tomorrow.
September 29, 200817 yr That really sucks, Woofer. People are really causing a problem. Instead of waiting until they really need gas, people are going in and topping off which is some of the reason you're not finding gas. Until people calm down, it's going to keep happening.
