May 15, 200818 yr One of my favorite places to get something to eat (or in this case drink) is the smoothie shop near sawn lake. We always hit that place, and then headed for The Beast, and enjoyed our smoothies while we waited in line! Does anyone think it will be destroyed from the construction going on now? I HOPE NOT! My fave was the Strawberry/banana smoothie. I'd been getting it since I was 10...I'm 27 now! LOL!
May 15, 200818 yr Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the smoothie shop is staying open throughout the construction. I seem to recall something saying that.
May 15, 200818 yr The smoothie stand is located behind the construction fence, so I would say that it's definitely not open.
May 15, 200818 yr It is closed, the wooden gate that is there that is blocking people from using the path. Now I never saw the smoothie place open and I worked there from 2003-2006 and went there alot for the 2007 season (and 2 times this year) but never seen the place open. but I do however know its is blocked off. May 15, 200818 yr That Smoothie Stand, called Paradise Island Treats, was open sporatticely. It seemed to be open on busier weekends, but never really drew much of a crowd. In part that was because there is not much going on along that path, especially since the long gone Salt Water Circus was removed. And as others have said, that stand is currently behind the construction fences. Although, the building is still standing as of last Friday. So who knows if it will open next year or not.
May 15, 200818 yr ^ I can't ever remember that stand being open. One of my pet peeves, too. I hate to see closed stands.
May 15, 200818 yr ^ I can't ever remember that stand being open. One of my pet peeves, too. I hate to see closed stands. Was actually opened every day until Paramount took over the park. Was called Chiquita Island Originally and was one of Mr. Lindner's pride and joys.
May 15, 200818 yr I'm sure with the new "addition" being added, that the stand will see more action depending on the layout of the "addition." Time will tell.
May 15, 200818 yr I wander if the path to Rivertown, next to BLSC will open back up later in the season... once they get done with Swan Lake construction (although they probably wont refill it til 09.) And also, if the entrance to the 09' coaster will be along that path than i could see Paradise Island Treats being alot more busy and open every day!
May 15, 200818 yr Author I just really loved that place! It was a good alternative to the usual stuff all the other food shops sold! I remember when it was the Chaquita place! And they used to have all the bananas and strawberries laying in the front window! Ahh the good old days
