The Interpreter
...Cedar Fair was required to get its two variances because the large sign at Route 43 and Squires Road will be altered now that the amusement side of Geauga Lake is out of business. DAN GLAVIN of Cedar Fair's planning-design department said whereas "Geauga Lake" was bigger and "Wildwater Kingdom" smaller on the old sign, the new one will have Geauga Lake in smaller letters and Wildwater Kingdom in bigger ones. Wording at the bottom of the sign listing the price of season passes will be eliminated from the new sign.... http://www.auroraadvocate.com/news/article/3819552 This is classic step one in a phase out of a brand name....or it may not be. It might be based on an effort to avoid bringing up what is now a very vivid reminder of what once was and no longer is. . . the name "Geauga Lake." KIBeast
This move would not surprise me at all. I think that it would make more sense to shorten the name.
