DropZone99
Me and Gnarkiller will be going to St. Louis for a few days. Of course we will be visiting Six Flags St. Louis, and the Arch, ect... We might be able to go to another amusement park, so if we can... which one? Silver Dollar City doesn't look much fun, so what other places are there? corn4ahead
SDC is great....they only have like 2 decent coasters though...wildfire is awesome and i hear powder keg is good too ( i went before buzzsaw falls ws turned into powderkeg)...also, celebration city is right around the corner from SDC...you can do both park in one day. if you want take a trip down to worlds of fun thats good too expecially if you have a platinum pass. Cory Butcher
If it is raining in the Ozarks (Which it always is) don't go to SDC, you won't ride anything but Fire in the hole, things close down there for a misting, no joke. The only thing else then to do will be watch Granny on her cell phone while making Lye soap, watch all the wonderful craft displays, and watch subpar amusement park entertainment. Worlds of Fun is a better bet if you want coasters anyways, although the air time and launch on Powder Keg are awesome!

I guess we can count our blessings that the rides at Kings Island wait until there is at least a steady pour (usually) before closing. Even then, some still continue to operate. It's never fun to wait out a rainstorm looking at a coaster that isn't running. I tend to stay away on days when storms are likely or go to parks that I know will operate as long as no lightning is present.
The Interpreter
Just a word to the wise...it's a bit further from Six Flags St Louis to Worlds of Fun that most think....it's not like they are next door to each other. It's about four hours, and 250 miles. Assuming traffic isn't too bad. Branson is about the same distance away, but it will take longer, especially once you near it. Of all the places I have ever been, traffic moves slooooooower in Branson than anywhere else I have ever been. Must have something to do with all the tour buses and slow moving drivers. Sounds like a trip to Kings Island. I can be there in an hour and 20-25 minutes if there is no traffic--like after a 1am close at the Haunt (which was sweet), but it usually takes an hour and a half minimum, and all the way up to 1:45 just because of all of the holder-uppers that like to camp out at 40 in a 55. One of my favorite games is to make up tickets to write these said holder-uppers if I was a cop. My traditional fees are the $300 holder-upper fee, the $500 aggravation fee, and on occasion, the $200 idiot fee. There are tons more, and if they are issued more than three, they get a mandatory $200 ticket writing fee.
