Daytona Beach

Well, the wife and I had a great time at Daytona Beach. We did not spend tons of money, but still had a great time. We pretty much ate in our resort the whole week while we were there. We went miniature golfing a lot. Some things we were able to do for free as the Concierge' service at our resort had coupons for certain places of entertainment. I would directly place pics in this thread, however, there are way too many for that. I took a total of 100+ pics.

The Daytona Lagoon was where we spent a couple of days playing games, miniature golfed, and rode the go karts. There were also 9 water slides, but we weren't interested considering the resort had 2 outdoor pools (one with water slide), 2 indoor pools, and a lazy river. There was also a nine hole mini golf course inside the resort. You can see a pic where I took it from two floors up.

The mini golf I loved the most was Pirate's Cove and Pirate's Island. You'll see several pics from both. Other than that, we spent most of our time in the ocean. It was also nice having cable for a week. We watched a lot of Spongebob, and a Ghost Hunters marathon. The weather was great every day. We had afternoon showers for about an hour/day. This was when we had come inside to beat the worst heat of the day anyway. Her being a red head, you have to closely monitor the amount of sun she gets. We had spf 50, so, we were well protected. If you have any questions about any of the pics, feel free to ask.

Almost forgot. We flew by Allegiant Airlines from the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, WV. It was a 90 minute flight. You ascend to 33,000 ft, which takes 30 minutes. Then, you stay at 33,000 for 30 minutes, and then it's 30 minute descent into Orlando. We spent about $650.00 for four tickets and a rental car for the week. Luckily, I had already paid for that part with my tax return this year. It was an hour drive over to Daytona from Orlando.

Enjoy the pics!

KIBeast sounds like you and the wife had a very relaxing time, something I wish I did more of when I vacation I usually come home to rest. My brother lives in the area just west of Daytona and loves the laid back atmosphere down there.

If you ever get go back consider charting a sailboat and captain for a day and go down the intercoastal waterway and out Port Orange into the Atlantic that is a very interesting and neat way to see the nature side of Daytona.

Anyway welcome back and thanks for the report and pictures.

Thanks for the advice, Avatar! Sounds like a good idea. I've never been actually out to sea before. We are planning on returning in a couple of years. Next year is going to be a coaster year since she is not able to ride anything this year. Couple that with the new B&M hyper coming and we are talking about a trip to CP for three days and KI for two.

Well, actually, maybe staying some with the grandparents, some with aunt Jacque, my sister. She is 42 and not having any more babies. She is very excited that her lil brother is finally going to be a daddy. She would definitely be involved in baby sitting, I'm sure.
