^Who needs a tent when you have a wing? One full week of.......well let's not stray far from Gordons original post any more. I really do love the picture of the heritage flight. Gordon, did you get any pictures of the F4U Corsair? I could not get any clear ones, a coolpixs camera just does not cut it. My Father was a Dauntless and Corsair pilot during the war. I would just like one good one for a desk top.

I did get some pictures of the Corsair, and wow was that a cool plane to see. Thank you for your post awhile back about mentioning your father, I am very grateful for those memories and I am glad to see folks like you and Bavarian Bettle have similar ones. Unfortunately, my corsair photos turned out really dark. That may have been one of my favorite planes to see though, what a Beast that thing must have been over the Pacific. As for the starfighters, yes that was an amazing looking aircraft. So fast, you could tell any inbound Russian Bomber in the mid 60's would have had a tough fight on its hand when one of those went up to intercept it. Although, with how hyped up that demonstration team was, I felt a little let down. They only seemed to do a few passes then that was it.

Pyro, I'll get that full version up soon when I'm back on a computer with photoshop.

First off, thanks for the PM Ronny, I think I just needed to hear that.

I guess I will have to keep trying for that perfect Corsair picture. My Father had flown about 20 missions in that plain, and about 65 in the Dauntless, he preferred the Dauntless. I think we did get the shaft with the F104's, because some of the videos I have seen have included some time to climb maneuvers and some cross passes that I did not see on Sunday. Most likely the cloud cover forced some maneuvers out. I was more upset that they parked them behind the F-22, and you couldn't get a good static of them. Well thanks again, and maybe one day my daughter will help me get some pictures on here for all to see. (I blame her but I guess it really is my fault, but don't tell her ok.)

I have never been to the air show, although the museum is somewhat enjoyable. Seeing the pic of the Northwest jet landing caused me some anxiety-guess it's just not my thing.

My ex was a P3 orion mechanic-do those ever make an appearance? I am not very knowledgeable, but I know they are on the way out.

Sorry for the double post once again.

Yes once in a great while we get an orion in this area. All are on the west coast and Texas, I think all of the east coast Orion's are gone, not much use for an anti sub plane any more. I don't like Wikipedia, but I just looked it up and it has some good info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-3_Orion

Also, don't let that anxiety get to you, the pilots know what they are doing. And you are right, it is not every ones thing, just keep trying and one day you will fully enjoy it.

That was a neat site. I think the pic of the orion from VP-8 was from moffett field-that is where we were stationed for six years. I loved going in hangar 1-actually didn't mind our whole stint there. The ex was in vp-48 and vp-31. He was in 48 as they were being decommissioned-when we left moffett, the members of vp-9? i think, left their mark on the water tower. Brian Bruns was one of the commanders of 48-he was killed 2? years ago on a mission as a firefighter in said aircraft, along with two others. He was a great guy.

The ex is currently over in Kuwait-dunno for sure what for.
