My trip around Lake Erie part 2

This is part 2 of my Niagara Falls, Toronto, Sandusky trip report. I got some rest so I'm ready to write.

Wednesday July 30 ; Marineland Theme Park. We went to this

park for one and only ride, "Dragon Mountain". This terrain arrow looper gave me and my buddy a good ride. It was a walk on with only one train running. I was told by

others that Marineland was a park that you walk and walk before you see anything, and they were right! I felt like I walked 5 miles to the coaster and didn't see anything. I

give the coaster a 7 out of 10. After are riding we walked around the park some, saw some animals, bears, killer whales and such. Then we headed to Toronto for Canada's Wonderland.

Thursday July 31 ; We were very busy with this trip and it wasn't all just coaster stuff. My friend had never seen

any part of this piece of the world and I had plenty to show him. What started this trip way back 10 months ago was when I heard about a new coaster being built at a Cedar Fair

park, a coaster called "Behemoth", and we had Platinum passes. We spent the mornings at the amusement parks and the rest of the days exploring the land around us.

10 am we get into the park, free parking and admission(God I love my Platinum pass) and headed to the big yellow and blue monster. Me and my bud are front seat riders and to be

fair that's the only place we rode everything. The seats are very comfortable and I was glad to see, no seat belts, just a large over the lap restraint that was fairly

comforable. What surprised me was though I'm 6'2" my feet don't touch the floor of the ride when I'm seated, which I found very comforable. Almost

floorless. I'm not a big fan of "air time" and maybe that's why I like "The Beast" so much but the "air" on Behemoth is right from god!

It's smooth very very controlled air. Millennium Force is my favorite steel coaster and I think that's mainly because of the drop, speed and smoothness, Behemoth is my second. 10

out of 10.

We did the woodies next, Mighty Canadian Minebuster and Wild Beast. Little painfull, I liked Mighty Canadian

Minebuster better out of the two. Both were to me 7 out of 10's The park was getting crowded and so we took off to check out the giant city of Toronto.

Friday August 1 ; Before leaving town for Sandusky we hit Canada's Wonderland for the early ride times on

Behemoth. Early rides started at 9 am, and we were there at 8:15 am! We got 2 rides on Behemoth by 9:30 am and again it was incredible. I must complement the crew of Behemoth for

they were insanely fast, really really good. I even had to stop at the guess relations to fill out a comment card for I was so floored. Killer job.

We of coarse rode Dragon Fire for it was a arrow looper. I don't think I have even gone Thur corkscrews that fast ever before. 6 out of 10. We really didn't get to ride all we wanted for there was

so much Toronto had to offer we had to use are time wisely. I was impressed how "Vortex" had such a long line,

while the clone Flight Deck at my home park of Kings Island is usually a walk on. Vortex looks freshly painted at first

look, yet Flight Deck looks like a rust bucket. Canada's Wonderland seems like a really nice park. Are only

complaints was the lack of Behemoth T-shirts. I found one my size, but my buddy was left out for they were all sold out.

Saturday August 2 ; Cedar Point is a madhouse. Thank God for there early ride times because me and my buddy usually take off around noon, to crowded, and I hate standing in

lines. Sunday mornings at Kings Island have spoiled me. First was Millennium Force. That's always a 10 out of 10 for me, except at night, there's that bug issue. Then we did Raptor,Mean Streak, and Magnum XL-200. Got out of the park as everyone was coming in. I do love my Platinum pass, I sure hope Cedar Fair does it the same way next year. We headed back to Columbus the next morning after are early ride times. It was a great trip, and I sure hope what we are getting at Kings Island has a little Behemoth in it.

Good TR! I posted this in the other thread, but how were the trims on Behemoth?? When I went in mid-June the trims were not grabbing at all, and even the MCBR wasn't grabbing!! So I'm definitely hopeful that even if KI's new Behemoth has trims, they won't be that bad....of course, on the days I was at CW it wasn't very hot and the temps probably didn't hit 80!!

Sorry to hear about the lack of Behemoth shirt size selection....I thought the selection was bad over 6 weeks ago!?! So maybe they're not keeping up stock? I got an XL, which I must say, has to be the smallest XL I've ever seen!! It's honestly too small for me (I'm pretty tall as well), and I might be willing to sell mine to your buddy if he's interested?? It's brand new with all the tags, never worn-just tried on once, and sitting folded in my closet, collecting dust with hopes of me trying to fit into it for Media Day for KI's new ride next year...

Also, sorry to hear CW was so busy! I got lucky as I went all weekdays during Ontario's last week for school and it was a ghost town!! Also, you should have tried Vortex as that line deceivingly looks long, but once you hit the stairs you're at the station, and their trains seemed longer than KI's Flight Deck, and the ride seemed MUCH better than FD too as the scenery with the mountain was cool and going over the lake, etc...

Btw, in Toronto did you ever go up in the CN Tower?? If so, did you like the glass floors?! I thought those were awesome and pretty thrilling for something NOT an actual ride! LOL

But anyway, although I was a little disappointed that the Toronto suburbs were not all prestine and new suburbs like I'm used to, overall the city was still cool and downtown was awesome, and you can't beat all their rare candy and Nestle bottled waters still bottled in Aberfoyle like they used to back in the day! (my trunk was stocked full of cases, and I still cleared the border ok!?)

But I'm glad you liked Canada, and I still want to go back to CW next year even despite KI's new baby Behemoth!

Ya we did it all. I been to Canada many times, and I use to do some photo work for the Niagara Parks. It was my buds first trip to the country so I had to show him as much as possible. Glass floor in the CN Tower was part of that, so was a train ride from Niagara Falls to Toronto.

It was hot the days I went and I didn't notice much trims on the trims. Wonderful ride and it looks like KI's new coaster will have some of Behemoth in it!

Sorry my buddy was looking for a medium shirt.
