IheartKI Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Has anyone been inconvenienced as much as I have by the closed path? It seems I spend most of my time on that side of the park, so maybe it's just me! I am looking forward to next year and the path being open again! Quote
Braves0511 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Yeah I really missed that path the other day...when we first learned it would be closed, I thought it would just be a minor inconvenience, but it means walking all the way through nick u or coney mall to get back to Int. Street and AZ...I spent more time walking than anything else that day. Quote
Jasper Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I am only inconvieneced by it when i want to go straight to The Beast in the morning or leave straight from The Beast in the evening. Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 It used to be I would enter through Action Zone, loop through Coney Mall then Rivertown, then exit through the Swan Lake/Backlot pathway. Now I have to trek through the Nick U, which is not fun. Quote
Jasper Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Going through Nick U in the morning is like walking through a Hannah Montana concert. Quote
fanofki Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Yeah, it has gotten more annoying than it originally seemed. But hey, I will take a closed path for a sweet new coaster anyday. Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 We should start a Topic: "What you would sacrivice for Diamondback" I'd give a pinkie. Quote
Jasper Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I wouldnt give up any body parts but i would give up a lump sum of money. Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I'd give up all the money I had. But don't be fooled, that's only $25! Quote
iChase Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I never realized how much I used that path until this season. I'm quite inconvenienced but it's totally worth it! Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Are you going to enter in that closed pathway or over by the Press Release Area? Cause I would like to go back to my normal route next year. Quote
Jasper Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 ^^iChase when i first saw the map and saw that it was closed i was just like you oh big whoop but yeah it really does effect me a lot when i try to get around. Quote
ZukoGirl Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 My Mom was mad as ever one day when we gettin ready to leave the park and had to walk all the way around but I say it's worth it for the new coaster Quote
MarketingExpress Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I am looking forward to next year and the path being open again! I was told at the beginning of the season that the path will not be reopening. Quote
IheartKI Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 I am looking forward to next year and the path being open again! I was told at the beginning of the season that the path will not be reopening. That really stinks! Having to go through Coney Mall where that three point basketball game thing is at, right before you get to BLSC is awful! I hate going through there. It's too crowded, and too noisy! And when you have three children, it's just chaos. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I dont see why it wouldn't reopen when they are done building the coaster. Quote
MarketingExpress Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 ^That would depend on the layout of the queue. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I am hoping they will use some of the western style buildings by Nick U for the line. Quote
Stewart32 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 back in the day one could cut across swan lake via a little causeway which originated in a picnic area (next to Wings?) I dont know when that closed, bout the time the dolphin show went defunct I hope the babbaling brook is re established once Diamondback is up an running Quote
fanofki Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 ^That would depend on the layout of the queue. I think they plan on re-opening it. I think they probably know how much of a hassle it can be without the path there and I don't see why they would build the que so they could not put a path, unless absolutely forced to. Quote
ZukoGirl Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 what if the the queue line could be like a bridge type and then we would still have the path underneath it. Quote
Phantom Theater Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 It better not be closed. That would be horrible, along with taking out how the park was.I think their gonna pressure wash, and re-pave it,then open it back up. Quote
Jasper Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Jeez if they dont re-open it can you imagine on opening day with all those kids and the Diamondback line in Nick U. Talk about overcrowded. Quote
DropZone99 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 The queue is supposed to be on the Rivertown/Nick U side. So why would the International Street/Coney/Rivertown path close? Quote

gigacoaster2k Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 We should start a Topic: "What you would sacrivice for Diamondback" I'd give a pinkie. I'd smash out all the windows on my brand new Sebring if it meant being the first rider in the front seat of DB. Quote

And about the brook, I've been wondering about that all season. I sure hope it runs again. Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 It was kind of weird. Looking at the map this spring, I thought it would be a major headache not having that path open. Once we got there though, it didn't seem like that big of a deal. They can leave it closed, but I think they'll have something go through there so you cn see the splash down. Quote
