New theme park

Featured Replies

I heard from a radio dj that a big theme park in wheeling ,wv is in the works.

Does anybody know anything about this?Wv needs one of it's own.

Camden is ok for kids.

Sigh. Search is your friend.

Look through some of the threads you will find here:

http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...ld+Escape\

Then, consider....

a. What just happened in Myrtle Beach?

b. What happened with Wild West World?

c. Who is the developer? Where else have they considered building a park? What happened there?

d. How much money is being put up by the developer?

e. Do you really believe the developer has already bought rides, they are in storage, and Kennywood and Geauga Lake (that's what he said at the time) are shaking in their boots in fear?

f. Do you really think Cabela's can draw enough of the same demo as a theme park to keep the latter in business? Worked really well down Myrtle Beach way, now didn't it?

g. Permits for the park are STILL not granted. They have draft permits from the Corps of Engineers, but those are not permits...and there are other required permits that also must be obtained.

h. Lastly, those threads that link brings up that are not about Wild Escape directly are about how difficult things are in the park business right now. A "bailout" is underway. Credit is tight. Discretionary income is perceived as low. These are perilous times to be starting a park.
