Thrill_Biscuit Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 It's also cool to hear 10,000 people 'singing' along to "Devil Went Down to Georgia" simultaneously. I wonder how many people will remember the 'Achy Breaky' dance? Quote

The Interpreter Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 ...Lets stay on topic and be respectful to all members; from the old members to the average joes. Do you mean members who have been here a long time or members who are old? Terpy, who in his heart knows the answer is.....yes. Quote

rex Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 So, has Lee Greenwood stood up next to America yet to defend it still today or is he still just singing about it? Quote

HoundDog Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Freedom Concerts are a great cause...Sean Hannity is a great American! Quote
Monroe Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 So, has Lee Greenwood stood up next to America yet to defend it still today or is he still just singing about it? Mr. Greenwood has always stood up next to her. He is a big supporter of veterans like the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Veterans Administration Hospitals, and the Women's Auxiliary units. Oh and he still sings proudly about it!!!! http://www.operationneverforgotten.org/ Quote
WooferBearATL Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 ^ I bet Rex is big Bill Cuningham fan, aren't you? Bill has been a friend of the family for years. He lived down the street from my dad and stepmom for years. He actually is as much of a blowhard in general as he is on his show. The nicest thing I can say about him is that his wife (Penny) is an absolute sweetheart! <G> Quote
RailRider Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Thats what I hear about him, not really surprised. But dont you think Rex probably really enjoys the show? I mean hes a great American and Rex seems to have an affinity for everything American. Quote

I'm not certain where he picked it up but it was right before I moved to Atlanta. I remember he was over at one of the neighborhood houses dropping off the NFL Picks for the week and he was telling everyone "You're A Great American." Everyone that was sitting around was like "What?????" Quote

I am not a huge fan of politicizing patriotism and using it to line your wallet. That's Lee Greewood. rex. Quote
RailRider Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 So I take it you dont fly an american flag seeing as the manufacturer is making a profit by selling the flag? Quote
WooferBearATL Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Ohhhhh, I actually kinda get what rex is saying. I too would agree with commercialization of patriotisim. It's like the businesses that don't just fly one flag .... they fly 101 flags. It's absolutely rediculous. Much like commercialization of Christmas, I think that you lose track of what the really important thing is. Quote
rex Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 So I take it you dont fly an american flag seeing as the manufacturer is making a profit by selling the flag? Nope. I don't have room for idol worship in my life. I'll keep my patriotism in my heart, where it belongs. Quote
