I'd like to see more on this. If the ride "Dropped To Fast", how come he was the only one who got hurt? I've seen that many times it's the Rider and not the Ride that causes the injury.

Which is not always true. Tell that to Ms. Lassiter and her lawyers....better yet, don't.

I wonder if the rider had some kind of pre-existing physical condition that was tragically made evident only by the coaster ride? There are people who have very precarious medical problems without feeling any symptoms or warning signs, only to be triggered by some force that would otherwise not cause injury.
